Looks and likability
I wish that everyone was so open about their repugnant views. It would be a lot easier to "separate the wheat from the chaff." (Credit where credit is due, I always say.)

Wow. Obviously, nothing from the last few posts registered with you.
Nope not in the slightest. All these medical problems that have been described here have been around for hundreds, if not thousands of years yet the obesity epidemic has been around for only about 40.
Seems to coincide to mass scale production of processed food to me and not medical problems or poor family examples.
This is probably why looks matter to some when assessing people. When I see someone obese I think "What else have they let slip?" Just what I honestly think.
Other traits that are more important than looks when it comes to likability:
Compassion
Empathy

They do but this thread is also about looks. I'm on about the looks part at the moment. I find better looking people instantly more likable during first impressions. Only after an arbitrary amount of time has passed can I actually start getting "under the skin" and starting to know them better.
Until then it's above the skin. An obese person can have a heart of gold but I'll still find them physically unattractive and at first glance my attention would be drawn to the smiling attractive woman over a smiling obese woman.

I've not had the same experience.
My comments are applicable because I'm demonstrating that looks aren't always as important when it comes to likability as some would assume.

Anyway, back on topic...
I don't care how good-looking someone is....an attractive man with an ugly personality begins to look ugly to me. Personality matters to me more.

People can be unlikable in any shape or appearance. That said, I've found attractive people (I mean women) better able to control their emotions and behaviour. When I see fights outside clubs involving women, it's usually the chunky types. I rarely see two models bashing each other around the head with a handbags.
I also find they carry themselves with more class when I meet them with the exception being one of my close friends who decided to start a game of who started spitting on me. I just spat back a few times and won the game (whatever it was)

This is most likely due to confirmation bias that's based on your own prejudices, not reality.
Racist people experience something similar towards those they are prejudiced against.

And how do you know? My prejudices didn't come out of nowhere. I've watched and learned and decided pretty women seem to have more desirable personalities that I click with better. I find them broadly speaking better grounded and less prone to letting emotions get the better of them. They seem more focused on life goals and try to work towards them too.
When I see attractive women I, by default think they have a better level of control over themselves then very unattractive women.
It's just what I've learned over the years.

People with racist views say the same exact thing about their prejudice. They would also say that it "didn't come out of nowhere," but they learned it through supposed observation - in other words, confirmation bias.
The parallels are becoming more and more apparent...

Being obese and being a certain race isn't the same thing. Why are you comparing them?
Being obese is the result of someone's actions which is open to judgment. Being a certain race isn't
Your insinuations against me are obvious. Yawn.

Prejudice is prejudice.
As has already been discussed, people are obese for a variety of reasons, so stop judging them unless you are okay with looking like a bigot.

No. I don't have to.

If you don't want to grow, that's your choice. But IMO there are far worse things one could be than obese.
