The fact that you don’t agree with the others I listed says a lot.

these 3 are more problematic as there is an element of ambiguity and subjectivity. Particularly number 3

Sexist generalizations and claiming that women have it easier aren’t allowed on WP. Members who mansplain should be prepared to be called out on it. I think fewer people mansplain on here than they used to. It used to be a big problem in PPR.

I get your perspective but I want my daughter to learn independence as her mom/dad will not be around forever. that means learning about the world herself. She has a lot of growing to do and I gave her as much space and time as she needs.

then add caveats please.
sexual generalisations - not cool but what if we are discussing journals/news articles?

women have it easier - contextual but yeah, more I think of it the more I agree this one should not be discussed so belatedly I agree

Mansplaining - this one get's thrown around a bit. How does one talk about their thoughts or feelings or experiences without being labelled?

I don’t need to add caveats. Generalizations are against the rules as is claiming that women have it easier. If you have questions about that stuff, I suggest talking directly to Cornflake.

If you want to learn more about mansplaining, you could read articles about it. I’m pretty sure folks provided you with some in the past.

"Mansplaining" doesn't refer to men stating their opinions.
Of course men are allowed opinions and they can share their experiences.
I think a lot of people fail to understand what the word even means.

Again I'd refer you to the information which has already been posted.

“Mansplaining” on WP often (but not always) looks like men telling women what it’s like to be a woman or about some facet of the female experience as if they know more about it than…women. It’s usually accompanied by generalizations. Back in the day, some guys would talk down to women in PPR and News as if they were less knowledgeable about those topics on account of being female. (They didn’t address fellow dudes that way.) That’s not so much a problem anymore, but it still happens on occasion.

This is not due to lack of knowing better. I was never given that education but even as a tween I knew better than to make sexual comments to women or talk about sex in front of them, not to be majorly abusive, & not to harass them or anyone. The guys who do this sh!t at that level are giant aHoles who do not care about upsetting women.

Sometimes folks grow up in environments where piss-poor behavior is normal. That’s why teaching kids about sex and relationships in school is so important. Bad behavior and good behavior are often learned.

I don't see it very often anymore either, but since the topic was raised I wanted to explain.
I find sexist generalizations and casual misogyny to be much more common.
There's also an issue with men asking why women do certain things, and not believing women's answers.
I guess that would be considered mansplaining when they insist they know better.

People need to be held accountable & punished when they are majorly out of line.
