Ouch. I don't know who to feel the worst for,
but what an awful marriage THAT must be.

Should the girl you like alot, but are too shy to talk to, turn around and ask you out? Would you pee your pants if this happened? If you like her to the point where you hide, and can't even look at her, and she freaks you out when she walks up to you, should she wait for you, or are you ok with her approaching, then dominating the conversation, because you are speachless? IS it better for the girl to e-mail you? Or do you just like private obsessions, without people contact?

that would be my dream girl right there. Sadly, no such girl exists in today's world.

I hate private obsessions.

No girl has to ask me out -- just show obvious interest. The kind that can't be mistaken by me for "boomerang interest", which is flirting which is done merely for sport and means nothing.

If a girl shows me obvious interest, then I can turn her down properly. I'd do this because I'm a relationship cripple. :D

If we made any of the moves suggested here, we'd be arrested.

I'm not talking about anything calandale might suggest...

I'm talking about showing an interest in her that can't be mistaken for casual friendship. It doesn't even have to fall into the realm of flirting (most of us here aren't great with that), but will probably have to be outside your normal comfort range.

Don't you get tired of never knowing if a woman you like might like you back? Yes, rejection sucks, but not knowing sucks too. Hell, I'm feeling pretty damn rejected right now, but I know that eventually I'll like someone else and if I don't give the guy any clue that I'm interested, I might as well accept that fact that I'm dooming myself to become an old woman with a lot of cats (and at least one greyhound).

Well, I would certainly be grateful if another took the initiative, as I am utterly inept in that regard. But I think I would have to sit down for a while, should that ever occur.
Otherwise I would likely stumble and fall flat on the ground, or something of that nature.

How does one go about "showing interest", and how does one distinguish between "genuine interest" and "flirting", should they be directed at oneself?

I am sorry if my manner of writing in this post strikes you as obnoxious, as has been the case in other places at other times. It is a defensive mechanism of one sort or another.

Hey! I've not recommended anything illegal. Not that even MY
methods seem to work. I still manage to drive them away.

The grabbing wrists entry technique is classic cal

Do you usually check the outside or the inside, cal?

Like to see you in action, see your foot work.

I NEVER would have suggested that, nor did I intend it.

Had a great moshing last night. Some poor girl was dragged away
from me, by her friend. Not that I would have dealt with her - I'm
still chasing my sweet thing.

Disapproving friends boo. That's terrible. Still she was probably annoyed her friend was getting the attention and she might have to go home on her own.

Luckily for me, the first girl I've ever dated asked me out. The entire concept of "girl asks guy" is pretty agreeable on my part because symbolically, my Aspieness thinks that if I even mutter the sentence, "Will you go out with me?" to a girl I like, the universe will explode. Again.

But yeah, a girl has to take the initiative if I'm going to have even a datum of a clue of her intentions. Hmm...I wonder if that kiss on the cheek I got about three days ago was any indication of an interest in me...

I actually suspect that she had told
her friend to keep her from going home
with anything. But, I was only playing.

I was asked out by both of my previous partners. Nowadays, I make the first move. For me, it's just a matter of finding someone I would actually be interested in.

As long as she doesn't mind me turning purple, I'd love it if somebody asked me out.

A woman asking me out would be ideal. Then I'd not be blocked with all the what if's. I still never know what to say though. Damn it!
