eating small meals more frequently definitely does help but cutting calories will give you faster results if you do it right. it's ok to cut between 500 and 1000 calories per day, depending on how much you need. so if you're someone who only needs to eat 1600Cal, cutting down to 600Cal/day is not a good idea. whereas if you're an athlete who burns over 4000Cal per day, that's a different story. eating smaller meals more frequently can really help if you're cutting calories because it can keep your cravings in check so you don't get hungry, as well as keeping your metabolism high because of the decreased time between meals.
