V-day is only special because some people decided to make it so.

Being a non-conformist, I can't possibly celebrate it.

I will be spending Valentine's Day at my house
doing nothing but HOMEWORK!

Mid-terms are the week after, beginning on February 16th.

Valentine's Day SUCKS!

Instead of a bottle of champagne and some lovemaking

I'll have to settle for a bottle of lube and a big w*k :wall:

I will be going to a fundraiser with a girlfriend and then spending the night at a hotel because it's out of town.

I shouldn't let such a f*****g stupid holiday get me down like it does, but every V-Day seeing couples and observing what I don't have always gets to me more than it does on any other day. I'm so glad it's on a Saturday this year and not on a school day. I'm not stepping one foot outside of my room this V-Day. I may not even turn the TV on unless it is to play the playstation.

"What you don't have" is often a charade. It might be some consolation to know that many of these couples will probably break-up eventually, and they're simply "going through the motions" on Valentine's Day, since that's what couples do.

Amen to that.

And next year its on a Sunday so I get to spend it in church... and get to hear about God's love instead of romantic love... at least I can experience the former...

Why don't we have a Valentine's Day party here? Remember how as kids we gave everyone Valentine's cards? Was that just me and my classmates? Well, we should do that. The rule is to not exclude anyone online that day. EVERYONE gets a card/photo of a candy heart who visits this thread. The more personal the better.

If that sounds too gay, we can have an anti-valentine parade of dark humor pics. I don't know. No one should feel alone anytime. Holidays can be brutal.

I actually like the former... if something were sufficiently personal, it makes me feel like someone actually gives a crap how I feel...

But the rule is: single people only. Couples have their partners, so this is the domain of the lonely wanderers... 8O

I remember, and I HATED that... And what value does it have if everyone is required to do it?

What, not even "losers" like us who deserve to be alone?

I always liked the fact that we were expected to give everyone a card. When I got older, it seemed weird to give only one person a card. I really liked everyone in my class, just like I like a lot of you here, but not in that special one way of course. Why did we have to change and be expected to only love one person? It's so artificial that way.
