I'm crazy but my ideal date would be to go to volunteer with kids together. Nothing to bond like doing work together. Weird, huh?

I think the best date for me would be in a library, checking out different books and reading them together on a comfy couch.

That'd be nifty for me, too. (yes, I said nifty....deal with it :P)

Do you have a Dave and Buster's nearby? If so, you might want to check that out. We just got one here in Tulsa, and it's pretty cool. Granted, it's not as big as the ones in Dallas or Chicago, but I could easily spend 3-5 hours in there on $100 (to include dinner for two of you.)

Only if you and your woman is really into that kind of stuff... The only thing I ever really got from a Dave & Buster's was a severe cold... (I'm a gamer, btw... but the arcade stuff isn't really my thing)

Totally agree with Toad! I got a cold there too! I think everyone sneezes all over the equipment. It also makes me a bit fuzzy headed sometimes with all the noise, flashing lights and it tends to always be very warm in those places.

Plus my b/f is an aspie and he said the noise and flashing makes his head swirl. I think this might be a characteristic of some aspie's but i am not entirely sure. I feel like i read somewhere that this can bother them but i might be confusing it with something else.

And if you're not into that kind of stuff, don't go. It's as simple as that. Just tossed that out there as a suggestion.

No need for defensiveness. You tossed it out as a suggestion and I just followed up with my experiences....

It's as simple as that ;)

Sorry for coming off as snarky in that particular post  . I guess I've become a bit more acclamated to that kind of environment over the years. I spent many Saturdays in arcades as a kid (a bit less in my teens, though.) and worked in an Aladdin's Castle in OKC before it shut down for a few months. Things like that were one of my personal obsessions, I guess. But different strokes for different folks, right?

i a soppy romantic

I think a lot of us here are soppy romantics....I think more of us here value that sort of thing - even if such a connection is often very difficult for us to express in terms that society finds "acceptable".

Which is probably one of the main reasons so many of us are single, as society places a much higher value on wealth, power, and/or social status than it does on things like mutual love and respect, fidelity, and acceptance.

I would probably take my date out to an Italian or steak restaurant. I would also like to take her out to see a movie or to a drive-in movie. Some other places I would be interested in going to with her are a mall, a walk in a park or on the beach, a book store, a music store, a garden, an antique store, or just staying home & cooking dinner.

Since I have Asperger's syndrome, I have certain preferences for who I date & what we do together. For example, I am not really interested in dating neurotypicals. I have found that I relate to people with Asperger's syndrome or some kind of disability. I also want a woman who never smokes or drinks at all, does not have any children, and is introverted. When we get together, I would also prefer a place which is not loud or crowded, and also has nice people.
