I saw a lot of 'she looks like a man' (by Americans) about Rima Fakih due to her "hard features".
It's 2013, are we still taking the opinion of the American majority seriously?

I think she's pretty and feminine, and I'm usually not into indian girls.
That was in 2010, I don't think much has changed.
And she's middle eastern.

This is a chicken and egg scenario... does putting this 'type' of woman in porn make men change their perception of what is 'feminine', or are these women already seen as 'feminine' and that's what the viewers want?
It's a cycle: Women with certain traits are already seen as feminine and those are more accepted to the porn industry, then with time, little by little, these traits were being emphasized/enhanced/exaggerated to attract more male viewers, which is in return altering the view of younger viewers.
And voila!!
I was thinking that while I was writing it.. but the point is, when you say "feminine", I believe that men think of the common traits they have seen on the women they've been around and have been attracted to. If all they do is watch porn all day and don't want to women in real life, then yea.. their perception of "feminine" and "beauty".. and many other things will be f****d up.
There are certain traits in a woman that I consider "feminine" that just turn my brain to mush when she's in front of me.. and I see them quite often, they draw my attention, and because of that focus, the next time I come across that trait it has been reinforced further etc... I'm just pavlov's dog looking for the one, alright? Jeez.

Rima looks like that girl in that Give me Everything video by Pitbull.

Well, no. That hasn't been especially clear.

No, I'm not joining the battle. But, you do seem to perceive the world through Feminist information-filters, and do seem more critical of men than women.

I dislike every majority group equally

Probably so but the other opinion is very common ie a woman not looking 'feminine enough' or 'like a man'
I've had it enough myself so perhaps I should take some comfort that even women in music videos who are meant to be looking sexy get it as well!
Can't people see how insidious this is - we will get to the stage where no one is feminine or masculine enough as the boundaries will be impossibly narrow.
I think the porn industry and media obsession with celebrity and appearance has caused this and it's only going to get worse

My opinion of what is attractive has nothing to do with media or celebrities. Olivia Wilde just happened to be there on google image search.
There are certain traits which are associated with women, because in general, men don't have those traits.. or most women do. These are the 'feminine' traits. Get over it.
No woman needs to have all these traits, there are men who are attracted to women that I am not, and vice-versa.
The women in porn are largely plastic, but the ones that have 'feminine' traits are there because that's what the majority of men find attractive. This is a chicken and egg scenario... does putting this 'type' of woman in porn make men change their perception of what is 'feminine', or are these women already seen as 'feminine' and that's what the viewers want?
There are so many different kinds of porn, if anything I think it proves that there is someone out there who finds every woman attractive. (BBW, White girls, black girls, asian girls, diaper girls, furry girls, nerdy girls, hairy girls, ugly girls, college girls, girls who left college but are thinking about going back..)
I am pointing out the disparity between how women are expected to look by men and how the men with such high expectations themselves look
Why do you demand women look so perfect when you do not is what I am saying
What are you yourself bringing to the table that entitles you to be so demanding and judgemental?
It is not logical to me at all
It seems to be a general masculine sense of entitlement that is totally unrealistic and directly fed by the media

Unless Pitbull offers to date you, then you would throw your bra in a blink of an eye.

Maybe if I was being date raped? Or drunk? Never want to be drunk and have a man try and rape me.

you made an assertion about me, so if you can't back it up with any actual posts then it is likely that you are actually not very objective about your view of me. just because i don't agree with your posts a lot of the time doesn't mean that i automatically think that women are somehow better than men, and i am very careful to use gender-neutral language whenever possible. it's worth noting that there are also women on the board that i don't agree with a lot of the time - i don't have an oar in that water.
you bring up feminism as though that somehow means that i would be more critical of men, but if you look at the actual content of my posts you would see that it is not true. if you believe otherwise, that is most likely based on your own beliefs about feminism (which you have posted extensively about) and has very little to do with me at all.
if you didn't want to get involved, then you should not have... gotten involved. that seems logical to me.

Well you'll have a long wait with such ridiculously judgemental and unrealistic standards - that's all I can say because in looks comparison you're a 1 to that woman in the video's 8
Judge not lest ye be judged

Exactly!
and people seem oblivious to the effect all these media stereotypes are having on them
And with the use of cosmetic surgery increasing people aren't even competing with natural 'perfection' or femininity any more

Whoa! Who mentioned rape? No, not that.
Never mind.

There was a wider field of what was considered attractive in the past
Look at any old master painting of a nude woman for a start - I can guarantee the likes of him on here would be saying 'Eww! she's not even remotely attractive!' re most of them
What is classed as a feminine look has got narrower and narrower - it's a fact
It's what causes a lot of the unhappiness and misery people experience these days - not being able to achieve the levels of perfection 'demanded' by others
I hate it
It's also done by people who need to take a good look in the mirror themselves, which I find bizarre! Everyone has this 'demand for perfection' thing going on and I've always found it ludicrous. It doesn't seem to depend on how the judger looks themselves At ALL.
