I'm comfortable saying he's among the best, I don't know if I'd go as far as to say he's the best ever though. He built on what a lot of people were already doing.

This is a fun one. I did not make this video (if I did I would have used a Columbia Graphophone instead of the Victor Victrola the guy in the video used) but I have a copy of this record and it is one of my favorite pre-1920s popular discs. Copies aren't easy to find out in the wild but it's a wonderful little song that is largely forgotten today.
