There's always someone for everyone in soap operas

It's almost like false advertising

I these shows were supposed to reflect real life

I thought they were escapist fantasy for people stuck at home during the day?

Idk man
Sometimes I think they're meant to reflect real life and in some things they do like with certain topical issues

But it's not anything like real when it comes to that

Yeah but I suppose they do deal with topical issues within relationships so they have to have someone for everyone in order to do this

Yeah that's it

I think it would be a bit too depressing and undramatic for viewers to observe loner characters who never have any sort of relationship in the show/soap opera. It would add some realism to the show though.

Can you imagine?

Loner: "I've been five years single".

Random soap opera character: "What have you been up to today?"

Loner: "Nowt, I'm currently unemployed and I had breakfast earlier. Nothing else of note has happened".

Random soap opera character: .....

I'd love to see a soap opera where all the characters are recluses and shut-ins.

It'll be the first soap opera where all the drama occurs online.

And, you can have the characters all have social media accounts so viewers can interact with them.

Imagine if that sort of thing took off? I don't think there is anything like that on television, but it would resonate with a lot of people.
