I beg your pardon, but that's nonsense.

Waaaaaait a second. Valentines day is a useless christian design to celebrate a murderer (lol@romantic implications there) who hit on a 9 y/o girl.

Halloween though, now that's formerly a pagan holiday to celebrate the dead. In other words, it's awesome. All Hallows Eve is a great holiday and Halloween is as well. Completely different things, but that's good imo.

Also Ricky5, not all virgins are whiners or have any intention of using a woman or buying the services of one. There are a few of them that can manage to live just fine without sex and aren't asexual either. Rare, but they do exist.

I kinda hate Halloween more than I do Valentine's

Halloween has become such as a party holiday that I feel even more depressed when I dont have Halloween parties to go to.

Now Valentine's Day doesnt really bother me cuz there's no social obligation to go out. Not everyone is gonna go out or do things on Valentine's Day so it's more relaxed. Plus these days you might as look at Valentine's Day along the lines of other days like "Mother's Day", "Father's Day", or even "Veteran's Day". It's not gonna kill you to get up on those days if you dont have a reason to celebrate them.

Why in the world would you "have" to celebrate a holiday? I haven't celebrated a holiday since... well ever that I can recall. I simply enjoy the thought of Halloween and how it was a christian perversion of a pagan holiday that turned into something "holy rollers" despise because they almost see it as satannic. And I enjoy the thought of the original holiday of All Hallows Eve because of its origin and intent.

But I don't go out and do a ritual or celebrate or trick or treat or anything. I merely enjoy the thought. Also, the fact it's the middle of Autumn and that's my favorite time of year helps.

The other holidays I dislike even the thought of, or ignore them completely at best.

Not all, though. The girl I lost my virginity to didn't care that I was a virgin.

A couple weeks ago I was looking forward to Valentine's Day, but just now I broke up with my girlfriend, Granted we were only dating for 3 weeks, but it was going to be my first Valentine's Day with a girlfriend, now, its just going to be like any other year and I'm not regretting it at all. She just wasn't right for me. Of course afterwards she accused me of using her for sex and told me to go to hell while I was trying to be honest and civil about everything, so that was pleasant.

Well, it is true for some people, but not all. I'd kind of like it if a guy were a virgin (probably because I've only ever had one boyfriend). I don't really care one way or the other, just as long as he's not crawling with disease or going to ditch me.

Or you could celebrate my birthday, also on the 14th.

Actually, of all the women I know well enough to casually discuss sex with, none of them find a virgin partner a bad thing, and 3-4 of them actually find it attractive. Something special about "being someone's first."
All depends on the person though.

You sound like a virgin. Hire an escort and your outlook will change.

I absolutely hate Valentine's Day since it sells what is a stupid idealized vision of what a relationship is that is in total contrast to the miserable reality that most relationships are.

No sh** I'm a virgin...what was the give away???

I just wouldn't be able to do that...I want to earn it...not pay for it, because then I won't have the confidence to know I can do it for myself.

The whiny tone was the dead give away. :D

I used to be a lot like you before I hired a pro and got rid of that nasty albatross around my neck.

Afterwards, I wondered what they hell I got so upset about too many times in the first place.

Once you lose your virginity, you will look at sex and relationships a lot differently (probably in a much more flippant and irreverent way than you do now).

Your mindset needs to go from "Why does nobody love me?" to "I just don't give a f**k anymore."

Think Voltaire's When You're Evil.

Focus on what you are good at and go from there. The tail will take care of itself one way or another.

Right now you've got this flowery BS idea of what a relationship is. The reality of a relationship is a lot less fun and much more hard work.

If you want to earn it, then just go into a bar, hit on a chubby girl, give her a back rub, take her back to your place and voila! you have "earned it".

When it comes to sex, you pay out for it one way or another. Be it the $250/hr for a decent pro or the countless hours spent going out to meet NT women, grooming yourself, buying good clothes, etc.

dont listen to him, that is just horrible.

Horribly horribly true.

For me a male virgin means nothing, its all about the person behind the label.

I find some virgins extremely unattractive, and some attractive.

Doth thou find this one, by virtue twixt the qualities hidden therein, within thine eye for interest of thy desireable attention?

Hi singletons and Valentine's Day haters,

Is there anybody else in this thread (other than myself) who is in a close relationship, but also completely disregards Valentine's Day?

Some people celebrate it as Single's Awareness Day.

My mother has tried to ignore Valentine's Day with most of the men she's been with.

If I was in a relationship I'd try to find some opportunity to ask my hypothetical girlfriend what she thinks of Valentine's day, and if she doesn't seem to care then I would ask her if she's OK not doing anything in particular for that day. That is unless she really seems to like being "romantic" in which case I would just do something for her no questions asked.
