The post-doctoral bio-engineer avoided any sort or intellectual activity beyond her work and her language classes and the psychologist seemed more of a party-animal than an intellectual. I tried addressing these topics, but they didn't lead anywhere.

C'mon dude, 2 1/2 of those subjects are freaking pop culture - and two different women with graduate degrees couldn't handle that subject matter to your satisfaction? And the only people you believe you can connect with spiritually and intellectually are men and women-who-will-never-let-you-do-them? Hmm....ever thought that entering into a sexual relationship with a woman may cause you to relate to them differently - as in, not allowing yourself to have a deep spiritual, intellectual, and emotional connection with them? Cause that would mean having a truly intimate relationship, with all that icky closeness and junk?

A straight woman I could have a deep spiritual, intellectual AND emotional connection with is pretty much what I consider to be my ideal for a woman. I just haven't found her yet.

Or is it possible that you're just choosing women based on a single criteria: an inability to connect spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally with you?

Until recently, I was open for a relationship with any woman who wasn't ugly and who showed interest in me. You can hardly call that picky...

Now I'm 28, and I don't want to waste any more time pursuing relationships that are doomed to begin with... I just don't know what kind of woman to go for.

By the way, it's not just I who feels this way about women. Several of my male friends feel the exact same way and even my lesbian friend (a woman herself) gets annoyed by the shallowness of most women she encounters. Although she's only sexually attracted to women, she finds it far easier to connect with men.

And I bet a lot of women would say men are shallow. I find most want to talk about sports, bar games (pool, darts, etc), or sex. Not exactly mind blowing

I'm not trying to suck up to women on here, but I'm amazed by the misogyny on here.

If anything, I get along with women better (or men over the age of 30) because they have things to talk about other than beer, sports, or in other cases sci-fi and anime.

I guess I'm also lucky that my interests - dining out, shopping, fashion, music - are in congruence with what many attractive women are into.

I hang around mostly with people with a university level education and many of them couldn't care less about sports. Bar games is something I sometimes do with friends but which never comes up in conversations and with regards to sex... actually, that doesn't come up very often either.

Try living with that all the time. It's a pretty common theme from men. My bf just had a conversation with a guy at work who doesn't understand why women would get paid the same as men to do the same job. He also said that if women don't like that, they should go to Iran and see how they like it.

Absolutely amazing.

The point is, that's fairly typical. So I wouldn't say one gender is more shallow than the other.

Well, I guess when most women you encounter are shallow stuck-up b*****s it's pretty hard not to hate women. A friend of mine recently told me that if there was a pill that could save him from being interested in women he'd take it instantly and I couldn't agree with him more. With one exception, the most intelligent men I know all have trouble finding a woman they can remotely connect with (one has even considered a gay lifestyle because of it) and those I know who do have a relationship often suffer from being dominated by their partner up to a point it nearly suffocates them... which happened to me a few times as well.

As time progresses, I'm losing more and more hope and respect for humanity as a species (with an exception here and there), but women seem even worse than men.

I think what Tim is trying to get across is that aspergers women have no standards.

lol.

All the things he stabbed us for are ALSO DONE BY NT WOMEN AND MEN.

His BIGGEST barrier, is the whole OBSESSING about the apparent "differences" between aspergers and NT, like they're the only two types of people on earth.

With regards to your average guy or gal, you're probably right. Both tend to be extremely shallow (and annoy the hell out of me because of it). However, with regards to the more intellectual crowd I find it far easier to find men with depth than women.... and the men I can relate to tend to agree with me.

And it's not like the men in question are nerds. One is an webdesigner and photographer who used to be a model and has above average social skills, but our outlook on society and women is almost identical.

As stated in another thread (don't want to repeat myself and bore everyone), try encountering physical and sexual abuse throughout your life by the opposite gender. I guess it would be really easy to blame all men for that- but that would be ignorant. I also find that humanity disgusts me most of the time. Yes, a lot of phony stuck up women exists. A lot of a$$hole, abusive men exist too. It sucks on both sides. It's not easy to weed through the crap-- but we ALL do it.

men are shallow, women are shallow.

From what i've seen men are more shallow, but its silly to assume the majority of either sex is extremely shallow.

Salonfilosoof, you don't suppose women with the depth, intelligence and mental acuity that you seek knows very well to stay away from misogynist bastards such as yourself?

Just a suggestion.

Obviously, not ALL men are responsible for the behavior of some men and not ALL women are responsible for the behavior of some women. It is true, however, that men tend to be more sexually aggressive do to their increased testosterone levels and that the only difference between a sexual predator and a decent guy is whether or not he can control his urges and whether or not he has sociopathic or psychopatic tendencies.

I can't disagree here. I find most women more irritating than most men (there are always the exceptions, which is why I used the word "most" in both instances), but I've pretty much lost hope in humanity as a species as well. Hell, I even started a topic called "Misantropy" in another section of this forum a short while ago, which should express how I feel about humanity as a whole.

Again, I'm focusing on the more educated people. I see a far smaller percentage of abusive men there but the amount of stuck up women I encounter does not seem to decrease with the level of education (or intelligence).

By your own admission, you've dated women (almost exclusively?) with BPD. Women with BPD are not exactly great candidates for deep emotional, spiritual, and intellectual connections. That's got to be a factor here.

But not the only factor. You were pretty quick to whip out the word "b*****s" weren't you? That's pretty he-man woman hater of you, and I'm sorry, but any smart woman will steer clear of you because of that attitude. You need to figure out what you're doing to contribute to this mess. Oh and btw, your friend who "considered" the gay lifestyle is gay. There is no straight man in the world who wakes up one day and decides that's the day he's going to suck his first d!ck - cause women are "such shallow b*****s."

Perhaps you are mis-reading women as being stuck up. You stating that there are only about 4 subjects that you deem worthy enough to talk about sounds pretty stuck up and narrow minded. I would believe that most women want a little more diversity that being forced to talk about a handful of topics constantly. If someone has a heavily intelliectual job, light hearted conversation outside of work would probably be appreciated.

And well educated, intelligent men are often the worst when it comes to control and abuse. Intelligence or education level does not make a decent individual.
