I loved April and Andy's wedding. They invited their friends and family over for like a potluck housewarming party and surprised them with their wedding. Simple, adorable, affordable.
There is a lot of cultural and familial pressure to have a big wedding, it stinks, people should be able to do what they want without judgement.
It's about the couple, it's their day, I wish other people would butt out and shush.
All the wedding shows and magazines pushed here bug me even more when marriage isn't even legal for everyone in this country :(

As far as the dancing goes...I don't know, your culture is different from mine so the reasons I'm thinking probably aren't applicable
I wouldn't totally discount some awkwardness or attitude issue peeking through being a contributing factor, but I know you do so..

I am not discounting the awkwardness but i am discounting the creepiness (= by creepiness means i make girls scared of me), i don't have this creepiness vibe , i am sure of this.

Those aren't the feelings you're looking for.
But seriously... if you're against marriage you should say so.

Those aren't the feelings I'm looking for. I guess I should just

move along, move along...

I don't know that I'm against marriage. The concept doesn't really appeal to me right now though. I met a great guy but I met him young, and I don't want to lose him but I don't want to restrict myself forever. I can't have it all if he's not comfortable with it though.

Sorry, Boo, for detracting from your post. I hate dances. My parents forced me to a couple of church dances when I was a teenager and I just walked around the outside of the building until they were over.

Be like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. A wedding is ceremonial. Marriage is in your heart. I hate that marriage also has to be on paper according to modern standards and laws.

Of course, I'm also pro- polyamory and open relationships as I have plenty of friends that have made that work out for them. I can understand being worried about being tied down to one person forever.

Hey Boo,

I have to agree with Hyperlexian at the very beginning. The other girls may actually be on the lookout for a hookup, and if someone else caught their eye early on, that may be why they seem disinterested while dancing with you. I can't stand dancing with people at weddings. Then again, I'm not really one to do much dancing with another person anywhere. Maybe focus on chatting people up instead of dancing with them?

Heh. Back in the day I started pacing while chewing on the end of a glow stick at a Prodigy rave/concert. My boyfriend and friends had gone off to play in the mosh pit and I was bored and (what I now recognize as) stimming. Next thing I know someone tapped me on the shoulder and took a sudden step back when I stopped to look - he acted like he was worried I was going to deck him or something. He asked me if I was okay, and I told him yes, and then I realized exactly how big my own private circle had gotten and how many people were watching me. That was a bit embarrassing. I must have seemed really pissed off with how vigorously I was pacing and the lack of a positive look on my face.

Roger that, Boo. No offense intended whatsoever. (And congratulations!) You're right - just get young women to natter about blah blah blah. You won't have to say a word! :D

Yea ;p

Also, I just wanted to caution against saying "people 'never' perceive me as XYZ." Really, no one has any idea, because so few people will say it to your face. I can take a good guess at how I am perceived most of the time - for better or worse - but I can't always be sure. 99.99% of everyone would probably be shocked (and horrified, miserable, depressed, etc.), if everyone else revealed such thoughts out loud.

I have enough self-asserting evidences that I don't have the creepiness problem and i am almost never perceived as creepy, it is something i thought i had at times but I simply don't (which is good). Girls are very friendly with me everywhere, creeps don't get that.

That's good to keep in mind. I end up forgetting this and then sacrifice my self trying to put myself in a likeable light for everyone (IMPOSSIBLE!). Then I get overwhelmed and/or lose my sense of self and don't know who I am. :shaking:

Holy Batman!

Beautiful dress. That table of food just looks yummy.

Fireworks? Some people have way too much money to spend.

Who's the girl? She's very pretty.
