Tequila:

I've got no idea if you remember me, but I think I remember you - from before I disappeared from WrongPlanet the last time. I think I remember us talking about you knowing some norwegian as well or something norwegian related anyway. I usually don't blindly trust my own memory though, because memory is stored perceptions modified and intertwined with varying amounts of fantasy. Can you confirm? :)

Wasn't to do with Denmark was it, or something to do with that awful turd-like sausage mystery meat substance you call pølser?

I would love to go to Norway though. Unfortunately I don't think the fjords would be my thing. Which pretty much knackers up any chance of me otherwise visiting the country due to cost. :)

Yes, that is the case in real life but it has been discussed that there are more female members than male members on this forum, however most of them are in relationships or they are simply looking for advice on their relationship, females tend to enjoy discussing their emotions more than males so perhaps that's why there are slightly more females.

i did an analysis of that a couple of months ago. for some reason people seem to notice females on the board more than males, but they do not seem to be more prevalent:

some findings from looking at the list of members (not exact as i looked at a approximate ranges):

14 out of the top 50 posters are female, and 34 out of the top 100 (with 6530+ posts)

for members with about 2500 posts, i counted 21 of 50 members being female.

for members with about 1000 posts, i counted 20 of 50 members being female.

for members with about 500 posts, i counted 21 of 50 members being female.

for members with about 100 posts, i counted 20 of 50 members being female.

for members with about 50 posts, i counted 23 of 50 members being female.

for members with about 25 posts, i counted 26 of 50 members being female.

for members with about 10 posts, i counted 16 of 50 members being female.

note: about 10% of the females i counted had family members who were autistic, whereas few or none of the men were in that category. my original estimate was 10 to 15% but i think it was lower than that.

Elevator? Why not the lobby?

What is it with you and the lobby?

I have a thing for overstuffed chairs.

Fixedier.

Cute.

You know darn well I have a thing for minimalist Danish post-modern chairs. :?

It's true that Norway is expensive. Oslo (for the uninitiated, is the capital of Norway) has been awarded the questionable honor of being the most expensive city in the world. I hope they talk about the rent and not implicitly the prices of beer... 8O

In the grocery store, you get beer from ~18 kr ... That's just above 2 EUR, just below 2 GBP, and just about 3 USD - according to http://www.xe.com.

How much is the good stuff? When I was in Finland the price for a cheap bottle of strong porter was around £3 or so.

I think it's more common when you post a photo as an avatar, at least that's what I have heard anecdotally.

I'm not sure why, but I have a couple theories:

- It advertises the fact that you're female.
- It may signal (usually wrongly) that you are looking to attract attention to yourself.

Some users have reported that the amourous PMs (truly "creepy" ones are rare and dealt with swiftly) stop when they change their avatar to something gender-neutral.

BTW I met my current GF here with creepy PM's

it also depends whether a female posts many pictures. NaomiDB i see you have recently posted some pictures that show us your loveliness, so i imagine you might get some PMs in the near future.

Cupla months more-or-less

And I'll say once again: truly creepy behavior is (thankfully) rare on WP because it is so well moderated.

I get annoyed at how "creep" and "stalker" get thrown around here so much, it's trivialized an otherwise important issue...

Agreed. Sometimes some of the fellas might go a little bit too far but it's almost never meant aggressively I think.
