It's not gonna end any argument, even though it's true.

I dont think bargaining power is the right wording, but i do see as in the more general case of a guy approaching a girl its the girl who has the final say whether the guy is good enough or not. And that gives a degree of power, is it a huge ammount? Varies from person to person. Someone that gets approached 24/7 by the better men will hold more power than one whos barely approached. Just like Harvard gets more applications than a community college

but in that model the men are deciding which female to approach, which puts the initial power squarely in their hands. men make a decision as to who they want to pursue.

Job applicants decide which jobs they want to pursue as well. It's still fairly obvious that it's easier for an employer to find an employee than vice verca.

it's not the same as a job application lol

men and women both hold power in dating, it is just expressed differently. i can't reject all the men who never even ask me out.

Then you didnt watch it since it sides with you over the course of the 9 parts.

It also discusses attractiveness rating and as i had mentioned before that some do have more power than others.

That's the whole point, it changes over time i.e. it is culturally defined.

Not really.

the top female had a BMI at least 3 points higher than the second female.

Zooey Deschannel is 8 lbs heavier than Marilyn Monroe and 2" taller. Both are/were close to 23% body fat.

nobody actually knows for sure of Marilyn Monroe's actual measurements and weight. it ranges by at least 20lbs and several inches depending on who was reporting it. in those pictures, she clearly has a much higher level of body fat.

I agree with it. There are others who don't, though...

Nope, the few pounds more worth of weight are muscle, she isn't pudgy in any way. She had a 23" waist.

i have done hundreds of hours of study on the topic. things are not so clear-cut as they are trying to opine. for anyone that wants to do reading on the subject, Google Scholar is a good starting point.

once again - her measurements were reported differently by different media outlets. if you did some actual research about it you'd see. plus, her waist doesn't have the fat on it lol. and yes, she has a much higher level of body fat than Zooey Deschanel. you seem to be seeing what you WANT to see, as opposed to what is actually there.

My information is taken from her dressmaker.

She did have some faint muscle definition, so she did not have a higher body fat percentage than Zooey Deschannel.

you can actually see the body fat in the first picture lol.

what makes you think that her measurements were correctly reported? especially considering that it was reported differently by different sources. and once again, her waist measurement is irrelevant. she carried weight on her hips and thighs.

here you can see her body fat more clearly:

(oh and in the last pic you posted she has visible back fat splooshing out the side)

Zooey Deschannel wearing a crop top or a bikini shows a similar physique (but with a smaller frame). What makes you think that Marilyn Monroe's size 16 figure is the correct meassurement?

If her dressmaker repors a 120 lb weight, then that's the zero hypothesis.

http://www.snopes.com/movies/actors/mmdress.asp

In other words, her figure is pretty similar to modern day movie stars.

AH, here:

That's Miss America 2011. I see plenty of differences.

It can definitely be socially conditioned.

My personal tastes vary greatly from what I am supposed to find attractive. You know, muscular tall men with short hair.

no, because there is no reason to believe her dressmaker. if she had celebrity clients, it was in her best interests to spin the data to make them appear to be as perfect as possible. stylists, tailors, doctors - all are part of the media machine that create and support the celebrity public images.

i didn't say she was size 16 - i said she is visibly larger than Zooey Deschanel and obviously has a higher body fat percentage.

Size and body fat are not the same. Furthermore, she isn't heavier than Deschannel. Read the link at Snopes. Given the Deschannel har no muscle definition, theyhae roughly the same fat percentae.

they are not always the same, but they can be. she has visibly more body fat than Zooey Deschanel. you can see it quite easily - i have looked at pictures of Zooey Deschanel as well.

also worth noting is that Zooey Deschanel has recently lost weight. so i suppose that she is not immune to the pressures of modern Hollywood - the expectation is to be thinner now.
