Do you think you're intimidating?
for me, it's because not only do I fight like a really Motherf***er constantly day in and day out to get ahead and make it in this world, but because I learned how to use my Autism to my advantage, I can basically wind up "interrogating" peoples' arguments in the sense of totally destroying them with just a few properly thought-out questions.
Years ago, a friend of mine said to me "Russell, people you're age are creeped out by you because you talk to them like you're a 70 year old man; 70 year old men are creeped out by you because....well you're 28 and you're talking to them like you're their age".
I recently said to my friend "and that's when I was 28; gonna be 31 soon. Imagine how much different my arguments are now compared to then...and hell, who knows how I'll sound when I am 70!"

I don't know if this is similar to what you're describing, but I've found that, when I need to, I can often get a lot of information out of somebody with just a short question or two, a flat expression, and then just letting them talk. They end up completely unable to tell whether I believe their story or how much I already know, so they just keep talking and talking and let more and more details slip out as they go. I don't like to do that normally (and people seem to hate it when I do), but if I know I'm being lied to and I need to find out what's going on, that often works.
