billiscool: Yes, I am. I am a feminist, a liberal, and an atheist. I could also stand to lose about 30 pounds, I'm short, have long, dark, reddish brown hair, I wear glasses, I'm tattooed and I could only politely be described as assertive (the better description would probably be aggressive.) I have a quiet voice, and I'm sexually dominant (for the most part, exceptions exist.) I have some serious scars on the torso, I freckle badly in the sun and I laugh very loudly. I also have what has been described as a 'coarse' sense of humor, stemming from years as a blue collar worker before academia. My friends are primarily male, and I'm not infrequently described as one of the guys (I don't know why. I'm pretty top-heavy.) I dress comfortably most of the time. I don't wear makeup.

You wouldn't think that combination would work for anyone, but it apparently does for some people. I credit being willing to listen to people. Sometimes I tell people I think they're being an idiot, but for the most part I just stop what I'm doing and listen to them as if their opinion is important.

I smoked between 17-18, then quit to take up running. It was a gross habit. I don't even social smoke, now.

Again, I don't credit my political views (which are as likely to turn a guy off as on), but rather a habit of listening to others.

billiscool: I tend to be up front about it, since it saves time. I do have friends who disagree with me, politically. We have great debates (I'm not convincing them, they're not convincing me, it's just fun to air our respective differences.)

Political beliefs best kept to yourself Bill? Eventually as you get to know someone, you will find they will voice their opinions about something that indicate where they stand on the political spectrum.

A person's religious view will likely tell you where they lean on the political spectrum. Where I live, Christians typically lean towards the right wing more, while Atheists typically lean towards the left.

Do you care to share what you believe in? I hope its not too much trouble. I would definitely advise not being afraid to share what you believe in. As mouthyb points out, it can save a lot of trouble when narrowing your search for what you are looking for. The ideal match for most people isn't what makes them happy.

onewithstrange: I thought I answered, but the tl;dr version is to ignore the consciousness and individuality of the person through one's actions.

If something about a person bothers you so much that you have to try and change them,then you shouldn't be with them.Change is for light bulbs,dirty clothes and automotive fluids.
