You get the crush first and then act on it. I don't mean ask her out as soon as you meet her, although if you really want to on the first meeting then go for it!
I've recently realised that a lot if the guys I thought I had fancied over the years weren't actually people I really had feelings for. I just liked them in a "hey this is a decent sort of person" kind of way. Once they were gone I realised that I don't miss them and that's OK. Sometimes these things don't last and we're glad that we didn't rush into anything.
Buut, when you meet someone who is different, and as the weeks and maybe months pass and you learn more about them and you feel that connection with... Just tell them!
She says hypocritically. Don't be like hurtloam.
I think I have learnt something over the years after all. When I got the college crush on the girl in my class I'm sure she triggered me by being in front of me looking back. She did this so well that I couldn't get over it for many years, even if I knew I would hardly meet her again. This was also too easy, and required no effort from any of thus, so it never led anywhere.
Yes, I did learn from this mistake, and so I invited my would-be-wife on coffee one day at a dance after having observed each others on dances for a few months.
It's not until recently that I've understood the connections. If I had known it at the time, I'm sure I wouldn't have made those mistakes. OTOH, playing the real ND courtship game is very rewarding too, so I feel I would have missed a lot if I had jumped all the stages or never experienced the whole thing.
