"And I refuse to use hair gell. I don't want any part of my hear to look like a ken doll."

Yeah, it looks stereotypically gee-ay-why to me if I am to be honest.

Stereotypically.

It's the kind of hairstyle you'd think belongs to the kind of guy who spends as much time in the bathroom as women and is very careful not to mess up 'the hair'. 'Don't mess with the hair'.

"Having a stubble-beard just makes him look like a testosterone deficient man who's trying and failing to grow a full beard."

Hm, we'd have to disagree there.

I think some level of stubble looks far better than completely clean shaven.

I do clean shave once per week, but only because I don't really know how to actually trim a beard without cutting all of it off. I let stubble grow during the week.

I see a lot of guys who have permanently clean shaven faces, so it's fair to assume either genetically it takes them weeks to grow a beard, or they actually touch up on it EVERY single day to make sure it's always clean shaven.

"I have a feeling that the guys who wear those clothes, shoes glasses are the sort of guys who use Apple products.

I'll bet they all have iPhones in their skinny jeans and I'll bet they all use Macbooks in the cafe while they slurp their organic soyachinos.

Gluten-free of course "

You know what.

That actually sums it up pretty well.

They seem to gravitate towards free wi-fi spots, even Macca's.

Also, many of them happen to be pretty thin looking.

They usually like Indie Rock music.

Another trendy thing is the man-bun.

The Hipster look is so popular among youth, but I consider the fashion I described above to be a little distinct from hipster.

"Only an anorexic guy could fit in that shirt lol. His stomach is actually concave"

Yes, tight is ideal regarding these shirts. Not everyone has a flat stomach though or bulging muscles that will be well-sculpted by the shirt.

"If I hit the gym I want to be a more sophistocated beast."

This is probably the ideal way for an athletic guy to dress:

Replace that hairstyle with a Cesar or buzzcut and a blue cap on top, replace the shoes with some black sneakers and I'm sold!

We better watch out, though.

Soon enough WP will penalize us for our smug critique of the goofy looking fashion trends Australia is suffering from at the moment.

But I've seen so many straight guys do it. Is this what they call metrosexual?

I want to be permanently clean shaven lol.

I usually have a 5-o'clock shadow but it's not purpose. I've heard rumours of medical treatments that can stop beard growth. I want to get that.

As for you, if you like having facial hair have you considered just letting it grow? I've seen some guys with long beards who actually looked pretty cool.

I do it twicer per day and I still have stubble.

Espeically the ones who don't have data on their phones.

The number of times I've heard some hipster say he can't look something up because he doesn't have credit. I rely on mobile hotspot but that can be annoying so I'm thinking about going full nerd and putting a seperate sim card in my laptop.

Yep, seen it. What do you call it when a guy has a pigtail sticking out o the top of his head? It looks like a tiny fountain squirting out. It's so ridiculous lol

That's pretty good but he needs to make up his mind about tucking in his shirt. He can tuck it in if he wants or let it hang out if he wants but not both at the same time lol

Also I hate it when people say shorts or for boys, not men. Shorts are for people who live in warm climates.

One of the things I liked about the 90s was that everyone wore boardshorts. Boardshorts are awesome.

Good thing they don't currently have goofy fashion trends in any other countries /sarcasm :)

I would never want to look like I'm "too much" in fashion.

That's how fasions get started. Someone sees you going against fasion and that turns into a fasion.

Fasion trends are always followed by conformists yet ironically fasion trends are always started by nonconformists.

I heard a story about a guy who always wore the same trucker cap. One day a hipster said his retro trucker cap was so cool. Yet he'd been wearing the same one for 20 years. If you stay out of fasion long enough you may accidently find yourself in fasion.

I don't go out of my way to look trendy, nor do I go out of my way to go against trends. I just wear what is comfortable and functional, and don't bother styling my hair or growing a stylish beard.

I guess I'm at a age when I don't take too much fashion risks.

I tend to stick to polo shirts or button-down shirts, and either chino-type pants or jeans.

When I was 16, though, I went through a brief period where I wanted to look like a pimp.

I have a receding hairline--so the hair doesn't really matter. I keep it clean, though.

I shave every two days. I look best clean-shaven, though I don't want to permanently get rid of my beard.

LOL

I'm trying to imagine you as a pimp.

Something like this.

Nope...not like him.

More like "Hubby Bear" in Starsky and Hutch. A pimp in a wide-brimmed hat.

Or I would wear a Kangol hat like J.J. in "Good Times" used to wear.

Wasn't it huggy bear?

It's a shame you didn't have a pimpmobile. Something big and ostentatious like this

A "real" pimp wouldn't wear a shawl like this guy is wearing.

That's quite a Pimpmobile!

The Lincoln Continental Mark IV was sort of a pimpmobile of the mid 1970s.

This poll is useless without pics in the OP to show what is lean and what is muscular...

... those definitions are highly subjectives.

I'll take "can behead me and put the remains of my head in orbit by punching me in the face" as a working definition of muscular.

Agree.

Also, I've noticed what a lot of 'average' bodied people consider 'ripped' is 'skinny' or 'lean' to people on bodybuilding websites who are use to seeing far more stronger physiques.

For example there's a thread on a forum saying "When did Bieber get so ripped?" and THESE were the pictures:

It's up to RetroGamer to decide what standards we'll be using, but I can try and create one.

Very lean:

Somewhat lean:

Feel free to comment on it, RetroGamer.

I would call most of those guys ripped because they all have such low body fat percentages. I like guys who are big but less defined than most of those guys, with a little more body fat over top of the muscles, not so cut and veiny. All of those guys were lean in the sense that they carry very little body fat, just some had more muscle mass than others.
