Apparently the most flattering photo you can take of yourself is by holding the camera above your head like this

Y'all also seem to be under the impression I HAVE friends to take photos of me. That's not the case. I'm a loner, and photos of me doing what I enjoy would involve me sitting at a computer chair or covered in insects.

Covered in insects? That sounds interesting! What is it?

I like to keep, breed, and photograph various insects and arachnids. I've been fascinated with them from a very young age.

I don't say it's a dating site advice but care to share some pictures?

BeaArthur suggested a selfie stick. We can help you chose the best photo. Your second one is way better than the first one but some improvements can still be done.

I thought it would improve your looks a LOT, I am not sure if you can afford a dentist.

I wasn’t trying to insult you or something, my teech aren’t perfect either.

I could definitely afford to go to the dentist. Still, it's not cheap, and I'm saving my money for more important things.

Sabre, I'm really sorry someone made that unkind remark about your teeth. It obviously touched a nerve. I think the reason it even came up was because of the "fisheye" quality of the photograph focused on that central feature.

The advice about "get a friend to take a photo" - well, that remark was mine. Sometimes, you do need to have one or two close friends, for things like this or just to celebrate a birthday or hang out together. If you don't have that currently, tuck it away as something to work toward in the future.

I'm sure this will cause some readers to go iiiiiiiicccckkk, but I was not turned off by the idea of you covered with spiders or other insects. As a teenager, I used to collect butterflies. Even today, I find a lot to admire in the insect/arachnid realm. I kill Japanese beetles because they devour my roses, but I do find them pretty. (A necessary murder.) As an adult, for a while I dated a man with a huge beetle collection. Maybe one of your profile pics on the dating app could be a close-up of an interesting critter perched on your finger.

Since you are used to photographing them, you probably already know your way around a camera. Do you have a tripod? If not, prop up your camera at a good angle, give it a time-delay, then walk over to wherever it is focused on. It will take a few tries, but this will give you a reasonable facsimile of "having a friend take the photo."

Sorry, Sly.

You can’t use ugliness as an excuse—because you’re not ugly.

Sabre...you’re not ugly, either.

But according to all women I’ve interacted with in my area and online(besides here) I am.

I have gotten some matches both on OKC and Tinder
with some girls I had conv, none that led to actual meetup due to lack of seriousness on their part
I think that when getting to know somebody thru an app there's way less actual motivation to meet because you don't know each other really. It's clear why both sides are there in the first place so it kills the vibe... unlike a spontaneous meet or knowing each other thru mutual friends/work/ whatever.

and quite a few of the girls I had matched with I didn't even send a message. Because it's clear 100% just by looking at her pic or reading her profile that we're unfit. Some are extremely fat/overweight, and I'm thin, I wouldn't ever want to date somebody not proportional to me! not sure how did THEY come with the idea to actually swipe right at me.. It's like Dating a 6 foot or 5 foot girl respectively..or if she's like into extreme tattoos and piercings.. pretty much dating somebody who I'd be embarrassed to be beside her

And some look decent, don't have any off putting interests BUT they SMOKE. and I have stated in OKC "never smokes" I mean sure some people who don't smoke wouldn't mind dating smokers but it's a huge deal breaker for me actually, so even if we're soulmates and she regularly smokes either she quits for me within the week or it's over... which is essentially 0% chance of happening so I don't even bother lol.

I agree swiping is boring.. I was never addicted to it, on the contrary I only rarely go on the app because how boring it actually is... whether I will get a result or not the action itself feels odd and artificial. Best place to meet girls are pubs/bars. Gotta check the pub in the old city where they got open mic on Sundays... was there a month ago with a friend of mine and had such a great time really not sure why didn't I come every week since then(?)... so those guys who were putting on a rock song were in a need of a drummer so they were like wanna join in? I'm a s**t at drums but I was like why the hell not and it kinda worked decent-ish lol... was not there specifically for girls but who knows these are the kind of places which >>>> Tinder/OKC for meeting not only girls but good people in general in the same mindset and good musicians. and usually by knowing people you know more people so that's a good start!

Yeahhh. As far as dating goes, I agree. It definitely doesn't help that I don't go anywhere that would facilitate meeting people. I was thinking of maybe getting into DnD, there's a few groups around here. Even if I just make friends that would be well and good. I only have one in my state right now. Besides my sister.

I love the other stuff about here though. Lots of hiking, mushroom hunting, rock hounding, cave delving, etc etc. But none of those really involve other people. Which I prefer, of course. But again. Not productive for finding people.

Your teeth really aren't that bad. Having no gaps in your teeth is more aesthetically pleasing, but at the same time, it's really not a big deal. And I can understand not wanting to spend money on it, too. If you are fine with your teeth, then that's all that matters. Confidence goes a long ways towards changing people's perception.

Funny though, I've been talking about starting a terrarium when I get out of this trailer situation. I want to try and achieve something that can mostly self-sustain. It started with me just wanting a jumping spider. I want a bold jumper. I love the way their heads move when they watch you. They look so inquisitive. We have a lot of them around here.

If you were to work on yourself this wouldn't matter. There are top celebrities who are ugly with super model looking girlfriends

http://www.celebromance.com/14-celebrit ... e-spouses/

Why? Because they are top of there field. Granted we will never be that successful as Jay Z or ever get a girl who looks like Beyonce

but if you focused on what you can change (your situation) instead of what you can't (your looks) your options with women would go up. I haven't seen what you look like so I can't say if your ugly or not but If your looks went up a point or two I don't really think this would make much difference

I don't think money necessarily helps I think being happy and living the life you enjoy works

I'd say the second aspect would be socializing more e.g meetups/toastmasters

(we've said this before haven't we)

They ARE inquisitive and are among the smartest of all arthropods. Some jumping spiders are so intelligent they can actually map their surroundings and form rudimentary "battle plans" when hunting prey. It's amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDtlvZGmHYk

Among the smartest of arthropods in a broad scope, but the smartest spider is a jumping spider. It's one of the ones in the family Portia, which is shared by a lot of different cool looking bastards. They look like goblins with moustaches, all gnarled up like a bunch of sticks; they're awesome. I definitely wouldn't mind having one of those. But I have no idea how I'd come by one, heh.

When they make a cure for aspergers, adhd, etc I’ll get right on thst, until the i, disabled and can’t handle working many hours so my situation like millions of others on disability can’t be changed. There’s nothing I can change, I don’t fit into societies requirements to take part so I’m exiled

I've got dyspraxia, it sucks. I have trouble following instructions and doing the practical duties of the vast majority of jobs. I tried and tried and tried to get a diploma in fixing computers. I only just brushed through. I've found I can do graphic design and I enjoy it
