I would believe that. There are cases where parents grow to resnt their kids cuz the parents were not expecting the kids to be nearlly as much work as the kids turned out to be. I read some stuff about autism that claim three 4ths of parents of autistic kids get divorced.
People have kids for lots of reasons. I heard of cases where the girl supposidley lied about being on birth control so the girl could trick the guy in order to get pregnant so the guy would stay with her or so she could get child-support. I also heard of some couples having kids in order to keep their trobled marriage together. Those seem like very selfish reasons to have kids i don't think many people have kids for those reasons thou.

Nah. Having children is selfish. People don't magically become selfless and loving because they breed. The amount of child abuse cases and kids in foster care is testament to that.

You're bringing a child into the world without their consent to fill your own emotional needs. That's not "selfless."

Precisely.

I am not saying it is morally "wrong" for an organism to be guided by its genetic coding.
I am simply saying the person is driven by their personal needs.

Don't most adolescents condemn their parents for bringing them into the world? :scratch:

I've always felt it was a rather rotten thing to do, to force another person to have to exist. I sure wish I had of been consulted before it was foist upon me.

True story: mom really wanted to abort me. Don't ask how I found out.

My mum never wanted to abort me, but my parents weren't planning to have children.

Seeing as I was an "accident", my mum's always framed it as me really wanting to come into the world or something. I'm not feeling that.
