Sometimes it just takes more time for people to find a partner

That can be a result of external or internal factors

I wonder if part of it has something to do with their romantic history (previous relationships)?

There MUST be a correlation or connection between long-term single people and their previous experience with romantic love!! !

The question is...

What is that connection?
This thread is about people who have never had a relationship, so there is no previous relationship to compare anything to.

Maybe so, but there are still other people's relationships to which one's own lack of a relationship can be compared.

This is basically how natural selection works.

Besides the early death of course.

You can still find someone to spend your time with even if you're past the point of having kids, don't want kids or can't have them. It doesn't all have to be about having children. The population is doing just fine.

Some people don't get dealt a very good genetic hand at birth. Other's do.

for example, people that were born premature as a baby, premature babies are able to survive today thanks to modern medicine, hundreds of years ago, that would not have been possible, sadly reminds me of a black autistic man i'm in contact with, he told me he was born premature as a baby, quite early, and i like to think, believe, that also has contributed to his mental and social state, he is kinda slow at understanding things, based on how he has spoken to me.

I also can't help but feel sorry for him because of a traumatic experience that happend to him back when he was in college, i wasn't there, so its difficult for me to assess what he did wrong, and of course i know i'm not the best socially-wise either, but i feel this incident that happend to him was because of him doing very poorly in social situations, not understanding boundaries or very poor social skills.

He told me that a girl and her guy friends filed a restraining order on him and he was labeled a creepy stalker by the the whole college.

To no shock, to no surprise, he has never had a GF before and never kissed a girl before either. A lot of people will think, people like him, were just a mistake by nature, since he was born premature as a baby, nature did not intend for him to survive, he is only alive thanks to modern medicine.

It's really not that big a deal. My brother in law told me in Ireland they used to all have big families and the oldest boy would be sent to the catholic seminary to become a priest.

Actually from the time of the industrial revolution it was common for menfolk to be disconnected from families/community and become bachelors for life working in building/construction, shops, mines or in a factory.

Yeah, i'm sure a socially challenged woman like him whom i described, for all time, has an easier chance of getting into a relationship than the other way around, obviously. So in the industrial revolution, is was not unheard of for lots of men to remain lifelong bachelors, never have any relationships?
