I agree. It's the little things that men do, and remember, that mean a lot. However, diamonds work well too :P

I don't really like diamonds. There are far prettier gems, diamonds are too dull, and...typical.

(Even if they are my birthstone)

Could those diamonds be in the arrangement of a satellite-based death ray?

"No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!"

Their rejection of you does not signify a rejection of Jesus.

To clarify, you aren't Jesus.

Maybe that works as a defence mechanism.

I don't think anyone ever disputed that wishing death on someone you disliked would qualify as hatred, but it can mean something much less than that as well. "I hate the soldiers who killed my family and enslaved my people" is a correct use. So is "I hate light beer."

But address my point, which was that Cal is saying that LPP is a misogynist because he has "bitterness" toward women. Well, assuming that he does have bitterness, that's not enough to be a misogynist -- that just means you're circumstantially upset. It's not wrong to be genuinely upset, obviously.

If the bitterness is long term, then it's no longer an ephemeral mood, it's an attitude. That also presupposes that all women have done something to offend him. One may have, a handful may have. But all women did not. He is free to rail against the one, or the handful, but to make generalities about the entire gender is unjust and inaccurate.

In your view. My very thoughts of Jesus
would be an insult to your view. I see him
as a man, very religious, possibly with
a messianic complex, but definitely with
some interesting philosophical ideas, even
if they were somewhat naive. Not as clever
as those of Buddha, but still not without interest.
And like him, perverted by man's need to worship.

After doing a reading to LPP's posts, I see that I have to agree with you to some degree, although he was making a generalization with that list and overreacting to it, didn't especifically sound like prejudice against women exactly, mostly it seemed about how society may work were he lives. So I am taking that into consideration, I asume that is true in some cases, but it is not always like that. However he must be careful about not blaming women for this.

Mine too! I rather like them though.
So clear, and pure. Sapphires and
emeralds may be prettier, but there
is a quiet power in the diamond.

Never considered it a feminine gem
though. More suited to men.

I totally agree, but I have to add that the way of expressing things has a lot to do with it, as I have observed sometimes, if he would have say the same idea but in a different way, I could say this would have been taken differently. So, it is too soon to say he is actually mysoginist, as we don't know exactly the circumstances, we are just judging someone because of the way certain posts are made, that is, based on appereance.

I will. Though I vaguely hate all that is, and
would like it destroyed, specific personal hatred
is something I have seldom (if ever) felt. Nonetheless,
when someone irritates me, I'd gladly kill them, or see
them dead - sometimes it's the easiest solution. Usually,
I wouldn't mind if they just were removed from my life,
but I generally manifest this in desiring their deaths.

Things that my last boyfriend did:

Listened to me, and remembered what I'd said.

Asked for my advice and opinions.

Always gave me the last chicken nugget, although he did make a huge production out of doing this.

Made sure I was warm enough at night.

Made me laugh.

Gave me hugs whenever I asked for them.

Well then buy yourself the diamonds, and get your girl a pretty sapphire :D

I must admit though, coloured diamonds are kind of cool.

I wanted a husband who loved Jesus. I wanted a man who was gentle. I wanted a man who was as smart as me. I wanted a husband who made enough money that every day was not a scramble to survive. I had a lot of other things on my list and before I started looking, there he was!
Right now in the mornings he spends 30 minutes typing my novel that was printed from Apple and then the computer died into, uh, I forgot the name, uh Word for the PC. And then he puts it in flash memory so hopefully we won't lose the ms this time.
But the big thing is he didn't leave when I came down with kidney failure and our daughter with autism was her animal worst (she's now happy and in her own home) and and and. Never ever do I have to worry about him leaving. That security feels good.

in other words, a "good provider". Security. Its an instinctive desire.

Thinking more widely, would a guy who hunts and brings back lots of dead critters be a turn on as a good provider too?

lol Maybe in the wild west or perhaps centuries before.

well, It wouldn't be that bad if a woman would buy me a lot of stuff like a house, car, computer, etc. :P
although, very likely that wouldn't work in the end, would it? I suppose no relationship can't work like that, if there is no REAL passion for each other :P so I heard.
