Was your work day nice?

I haven't been to the river yet. My mom keeps telling me I'll get shot if I leave the house.

I'm starting to doubt her. :/

Your mother sounds really paranoid. Get out in the world!

And...as an impetus....I shall play "What'd I say" by Ray Charles. Anybody want to Lindy-Hop with me (clumsily)?

I rather like slight awkwardness better than perfection, to be honest.

I am so glad you are no longer dazed! How about a drink? Cherry Grenadine? You really look nice today.

To touch on last week's subject, I'm playing "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails, but in the Johnny Cash rendition. The NIN version is this hard contortion of mid-neck chords, while the Cash version is simply:
Am, C, D, F, G.

I only hope my singing does justice to the late superstar.

You should play by the River---but only during the day at first.

I like this Ray Charles song (even though it's chauvinistic by today's standards): "I got a Woman." It's early rock-n-roll. 1954. Very danceable.

You should post what you played right here, 35. The Jukebox Committee will probably insert it into the Jukebox.

i will admit to knowing nothing about music, or the playing of instruments. I have heard Nine Inch Nails, but not the Johnny Cash version, I will have to go have a listen on youtube. I wonder why your mother thinks you will be shot, John? I have heard of violence in Alabama, sure, like most places, but her reaction seems odd. Perhaps there is some trusted person who could accompany you? I think the bar has a karaoke stage over there....and I know Auntblabby wired the speakers-they are fantastic!

I will "dance" if you will, Kraftie.

Yep...let's Lindy Hop! (also known as the Jitterbug, the Hustle, etc LOL). I can't really do it so well.....but we'll manage---for there's harmony in our togetherness when we dance.

For a slow dance....."When You Dance," by the Turbans--late 1955. There's a bossa-nova beat to it. You hear lots of bossa nova in late 50s-early 60s music.

"When you dance.....be sure to hold her...hold her tight...."

Well, you are a very patient dancer, Kraftie. I have no rhythm or coordination, but this is fun with you, here, in this bar. Please don't laugh too hard at me, John. If everything in an Aspie bar is safe, lets try something with a dip.

That would be the Tango!

Remember: the Jukebox has every musical genre!

You can sort of do the Tango to "When You Dance."

The temperature of the Bar is perfect: 72 degrees!

There's a subtle Purple Glow emanating from the main bar. Excellent for Sensory Sensitivities.

Each table has one purple-glowed candle. There are booths, too, for comfort.

I have dipped you....and your hair is Flowing....like a Venus! There's a subtle Herbal Essence scent.

You come back....and you feel invigorated. And we continue the steps, until we arrive at our Drinks.

Well, you are a pretty good dance teacher, I think this is going pretty well. At least I havn't stepped on your feet yet! :D It helps that the bar is mostly empty, too. After this next song, why don't we take a breather? I would like some shaved ice with a bit of cherry flavor on it. What can I get for you?

I have a booth for us. I'll get you the Cherry Shaved Ice, and I'll get myself another Cherry Grenadine, and I'll bring it to the booth.

It was certainly a Humdinger of a dance---for the both of us!

The booth seat is plush....and most comfy.

Do you desire anything to dine on as well?

Oh, I do, thank you! Since we are so close to the sea shore, how about the catch of the day? I would be happy with some nice fish, or shrimp, or crab. Maybe we can order a couple of small plates and share, that way we can try more than one dish? What do you like? Thank you so much for the shaved ice. I feel very refreshed now.
