I'm not a misogynist. The most intelligent men I know but as well as my lesbian friend all complain about the shallowness of most women, so how can you say it's because of misogeny that I make those statements?

I have always treated women with respect and even allowed my latest two ex-girlfriends to completely dominate me in time because I didn't want to have a fight about every stupid little thing they made a fuzz about, so I feel quite offended when you accuse me of misogeny.

lol.

All the things he stabbed us for are ALSO DONE BY NT WOMEN AND MEN.

His BIGGEST barrier, is the whole OBSESSING about the apparent "differences" between aspergers and NT, like they're the only two types of people on earth.

Tim is the ultimate systemiser

As stated in another thread (don't want to repeat myself and bore everyone), try encountering physical and sexual abuse throughout your life by the opposite gender. I guess it would be really easy to blame all men for that- but that would be ignorant.

Obviously, not ALL men are responsible for the behavior of some men and not ALL women are responsible for the behavior of some women. It is true, however, that men tend to be more sexually aggressive do to their increased testosterone levels and that the only difference between a sexual predator and a decent guy is whether or not he can control his urges and whether or not he has sociopathic or psychopatic tendencies.

Are you telling me that you believe all men are rapists? My definition of a decent guy is not one who wants to rape but have "willpower".

By your own admission, you've dated women (almost exclusively?) with BPD. Women with BPD are not exactly great candidates for deep emotional, spiritual, and intellectual connections. That's got to be a factor here.

I've only had relationships with the more unstable kind of women (BPD or otherwise). It's not like they were the only women I ever had a date with or had a talk with. They were just the only kind of women showing any interest in my romantically so far.

You were pretty quick to whip out the word "b*****s" weren't you? That's pretty he-man woman hater of you, and I'm sorry, but any smart woman will steer clear of you because of that attitude.

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I never approach a woman with the prejudice that she's gonna end up being a b***h. I'm well aware of self-fulfilling prophesies.

What mess?

Oh and btw, your friend who "considered" the gay lifestyle is gay. There is no straight man in the world who wakes up one day and decides that's the day he's going to suck his first d!ck - cause women are "such shallow b*****s."

Actually, both of us are interested in women mostly physically and men mostly mentally. If I wasn't so disgusted by the whole concept of anal sex, I might actually try the same thing... but anal sex is just a step too far for me... so I have to stick with women.

I'm saying that the difference between a rapist and a decent guy is the fact that a rapist lacks self-control and has psychopathic or sociopathic tendencies (as in not caring about hurting other people). Decent men would never rape a woman not because it never enters their mind but because they would never want to hurt a woman and because they don't follow their penis around.

So the men that that you deem intelligent all agree with you. Dje, like attracts like. I also have a gay friend who pretty much despise men and only keep women as friends. I do not thereby infer that all men are despicable. Neither do I do so when I meet many men who indeed are despicable. Keep in mind that I am in the kind of university environment you hold to such high regard.

And uhm.. that isn't respect. That is not bothering to be bothered. In the circles I walk offering some resistance in an argument, whether philosophical or daily is a sign of respect and being on equal terms.

I like to talk about anything from music, movies, TV and popculture in general to high arts, history, philosophy, sociology, psychology, exact science, ety. Where did I ever give the idea that I don't want to talk about other topics?

Okay, you just destroyed every bit of credibility you may have had. Rape is about violence, genius - it's not about sex. Feel free to spread the word among the rest of the literati.

Psychopathic or sociopathic tendencies I can agree on. Though I would also add dysfunctional relationship with ideas of maleness and equaling it with dominance. But I am no psychologist...
However in normal men a lack of self-control would be irrelevant because he would not wish "sex" (I believe the current accepted view is that rape is not primarily about sex) with a girl who did not express her enjoyment.

It's true that lesbians are often men-haters, which makes the situation of my lesbian friend even more ironic. In fact, she also used to think all men were pigs until she learnt that men are actually easier to connect with for her.

True. The more differences of opinion, the more lively the debate.... and I just love lively debates. Maybe I gave you the wrong impression here, but sharing the same ideas is definitely NOT a criterium for me to like people. In fact, I've considered people of the most diverse political and religious affiliations (from ultra-left to ultra-right and from die hard atheist to ultra-consevative Christian) my friends.

One of the reasons I worry about what others think is because I was called a homophobic white supremacist because I was a Republican, despite never saying anything that even remotely indicated I was either.

And bigots are seen as "worse than child molesters".

So is it a coincidence then that many of those guys on "to catch a predator" (looking for consentual sex with a minor) had previously raped a minor? The whole "rape is about violence" claim makes no sense whatsoever.

I can't disagree here.

It depends on how much respect they have for women. Some men couldn't care less about whether or not their sexual partner enjoys herself as long as they lose their load. In spite of my coming off as a misogynist to some of you that's not exactly an attitude I support (at all), by the way. Let me make that clear.

Dude, are you drunk? Lesbians are often men-haters? Your brilliant best friend used to think all men were pigs? You and all your boy-friends think all women are b*****s? Rape is about unbridled desire? Sorry, those are not the ideals embraced by intellectuals. They're not even remotely interesting. Just plain old-fashioned, ignorant hate.

I think it's interesting how there are two kinds of misogynists...the type that get a lot of women, but don't have any respect for them and use them for sex or to abuse them mentally or physically...and the type that haven't had a lot of exposure to women, and are mad that women don't pay attention to them, or rather, don't make it really easy for them (the type on this forum and thread.)

The first kind of misogynist you can't do anything about. The second kind...I wonder if these guys had been exposed to women at a younger age, if they would have become the second kind anyway, or if it may have given them a healthier idea of what women are like.

I don't associate with the first kind of misogynist. I know several of the second kind, on here, online friends, and real life friends, and it seems the common trend is that they're all bitter. They feel women have overlooked them.

Well if it's any consolation, I've been fed all kinds of labels for being what I am. You're going to get them no matter what, the question is whether or not you believe it and how much you are willing to challenge those notions. We can't always see what everyone else sees.
