Agreed. Sometimes some of the fellas might go a little bit too far but it's almost never meant aggressively I think.

I was going to post something then but then I remembered you have half your finger hovered over the big red "BAN!!!1111" button, so I thought better of it. ;)

And I can't imagine you being creepy. I think it would be endearing - note that not every woman's creepiness is endearing. Sometimes it can be quite scary for differing reasons.

I could leave straightaway if I wanted to. I have done this on boards several times before, so it's not a big deal for me. I don't wish to leave at present though.

So it's more a sense of being offered an ultimatum.

I would love to know why. I bet I would find it sweet. ;)

Well, you (finally) seem to have taken our requests seriously, so we can hold off on with the hammers (and to be precise, the word used was suspension, and if ban was used, it was in error)

Anyway, it's been pretty calm here over Christmas, an armistice of sorts, peace in the trenches, the war between the mods and the rebels in abeyance for five minutes... just long enough to eat a mince pie

Hammers? Were you going to apply them to my knuckles a la Casino?

You're trying to invoke a World War I Christmas trench analogy aren't you? Clever man. :p

Were they any cop? I've never had one of those. I was always more of a sausage roll sort of person. ;)

Yeah, mince pies. Not made with meat mince, it's like fruit and spices.

Hard sauce doesn't sound very nice. What's it made of, concrete?

Now I know why I've never eaten one since I was a child. And even then I hated it.

I hope you had a nice Christmas and that you had people to share it with. We did pretty much nothing but ate and drank. Which is what we do anyway. ;)

Did you have a small bottle of stout or two while you were at it if you drink?

yes that's the kind of "mincemeat" i grew up with - no actual meat. but nobody eats it anymore over here.

hard sauce has alcohol in it, like brandy or whiskey or rum or sherry. i used to make raisin bread pudding or chocolate bread pudding and make a rummy hard sauce for it. but those kind of foods are not popular anymore.

It depends on whether the hammers or the vice or the pens are handier :P

Don't you like fruit?

Yes it was all right, thank you. You guys seem like foodies. We had a steak and some roast veggies, dead simple really. I like a no nonsense Christmas.

I had a single glass of wine,. But I have drunk a few pints over the holidays. I'm not much of a drinker.

Sure. Just not in a pie.

Good.

Don't be ridiculous! We - or rather: me and my brother - just like eating. Which isn't the same thing. "Foodie" sounds far too metropolitan and sophisticated for us, dahling. We're quite provincial and simple people here. ;)

I like the way you didn't have a turkey at Christmas. Overrated is the word that might best describe the demand for turkeys. Really, have turkeys at another time of year instead. They'll be better quality because people won't be trying to cut corners.

What did we have? Roast chicken, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, turnips, chipolatas, stuffing, parsnips and gravy. Yup, I think that's everything. It was good too. Well, we like to do it properly up here.

I understand. We do too. We didn't have hardly anyone round, nor did we go to anyone's. Just leave us in peace.

Ahh, yeah, I just meant just that you seem fond of your food. A lot of your photos seem to be of plates of food.
