I just checked back on my profile for the first time in months. I had two messages. Probably because I had "seeing someone" as my status. I put in my description that I'm no longer looking and that I'm really happy with my boyfriend. Maybe now I won't get any messages. Not like I'll check the page regularly anyways.

What's with women publicly adding me to their "favorites" yet not sending me a message. I guess they expect *me* to message them now. Freaking lazy girls, always finding ways out of making first moves :P

I'm not much of an initiator so their hopes of getting a message from me might be in vain

I just wish they'd say "hello". I find it kind of odd that people add others to their favorites, let them know, then never message them

That is weird, kinda a turn off for me knowing they still expect me to do something. Kinda leads me on to wonder what else theyll play with me in. Still ill take them with my current situation.

That's sounds like teasing and game playing. I at least message them first but lately i have been ignored possibly blocked too cause I was a bit too forward. Experience is a cruel teacher.

Was. Pure dead end. Fifteen people worth contacting, stock of faces refreshes for another go at it perhaps once every two years. Got sick of wondering about women or wondering what was wrong with me that I got, quite frankly, zero responses out of the people I wanted to contact, also got tired of living my life with so much contingency of thinking "What if I find someone", etc. - f' that. That said though I deleted my account, simply because I didn't want every new face or really any new faces weighing on my mind; it was a dead-end stress (also I started wondering whether I had any right to be with anyone, ever, at that time as well which was its own can of worms).

I've been on it since I was 18 (26 now). I get a TON of messages, but respond to very few. I've met a bunch of people, the majority of whom were- let's just say, "not good for me".

That being said, I actually met my boyfriend on that site. We were platonic friends for over three years before dating, but it's the best relationship I've ever been in.

Realistically, I don't think dating websites have any real science behind them. You get the same ratio of compatible and incompatible people as you would meeting people in person- it can just be easier (especially for us!) to get the ball rolling when communication is in text first. :P
