Everybody wants equality, but equality is different for everyone.
Sure, most of the time both sides need to work, but nowadays some women make decent money. Why is it still a problem that a man makes less in this situation?
Seems to me XFG & others here strongly expect guys to do either manual OR skilled labor, no 'trades' here, housework is both & actually everybody has to do that anyway. 9 months out of 10 many of my female friends will outearn me, but I'll spoil someone's parade here: 1000-5000 USD nightly payouts are not unheard of if hackathonning is a sport to you.
So another question then. If a wife works in an easy and low stress high paid job, while her husband works in a hard and stressful low paid job (roles could be reversed btw). Should they split house work equally or should one part do more? Why and which part should do more?
Is there such a thing as a low stress, high paying job? Example please.
I intentionally kept it vague so that we wouldn't argue about specifics. Something in arts or maybe something where you work in nature. So what do you thing? What would be fair to you?
I think it depends who is doing the most work. I could make more than my Hunny while only working a couple days a week, so then I would expect to do more work at home than my Hunny. However, I wouldn't tolerate them just sitting at home and not working even if they had to do 2 - 3 jobs. I would also pick up extra if necessary.

Why do you only focus on men and say nothing about the women who think that it's demeaning for men and makes them less sexy? They are clearly mentioned in the original post.
How does cooking make a guy demeaning?

Just because it's in the article doesn't mean I think the same way. I'd love to have a Hunny who can cook.

'Breadwinners' though, isn't that an ideology, part of an NT mainstream system,to bring the like/dislikes,for all wants, hidden agendas and purposes at loggerheads?
Gender aside, what's wrong with equal equality?
'Breadwinners' lol?
I don't get it!

I didn't say that you think that way. It just seemed odd to me that hurtloam would say something like "men, women aren't your maids!" and at the same time she ignored the fact that according to your post many women have a similar mentality.

The problem is that we can't put aside the gender because it's all irrational. It doesn't make sense and it doesn't have to. In situations where you can put aside the gender (for example in gay relationships) it's different, but most are affected by gender standards.

It's you who can't put aside the gender. I just want a Hunny who is equal.

Ok, let's say that you can. How is your view of your ideal Hunny different from typical husband position in a relationship? These women from interview, they don't want to be breadwinners, but you do?

I want someone who is going to make the same as me or more. I can't even find anyone who makes what I make when I just work 2 days a week part-time. My income I expect to only get higher in the future especially if I go beyond the BSN. I want an EQUAL - not a slacker.

It's because of this, all explained here:

nurseangela, a reasonable husband can never dare to tell a non-working wife to cook for him or to clean his clothes..etc because it may be taken in the wrong way and be accused as sexist and macho (it may be taken as if he's telling her place is in kitcken or woman being man's maid. ...or reviving old sexist notions ...etc), even if logically it's a totally fair division of tasks between a working and non-working partners. He may trigger in her some old passed grudges inherited from pre-equality days.
As for you, you can easily demand a non-working husband to do all these stuff, and the whole female society would applaud for you; no one is gonna accuse you that you're reviving some old sexist notions, in the contrast, they would call you very progressive.
So if the housewife is too lazy to cook or to clean, the best thing a husband can do is to shut up about it, and order some pizza, or hires a maid for this if he can afford it.

People don't like to admit this, but doing feminine jobs will make you more feminine and doing masculine jobs will make you more masculine. There's a service in Russia which is called a "husband for an hour". Hint: it's not an intimate service.
It's less about doing household jobs and more about doing the household jobs you're supposed to do.

Or maybe she only whined about men because she's a feminist, don't know.
