The woman? What is a me-too thing?

I've never heard of him or them. Yes, money = power for men and women alike.

Maybe because he’s of your age.

Or

You need a new pair of glasses.

The guy is okay-looking.

I'm not so sure about how he actually is as a person.

I would have preferred using somebody like Richard Gere in his 60s.

It seems to me that men are more critical of men's looks than women are. I think he looks fine. I have new glasses.

He's considerably older than I am, but so what?

He's in his late 60s. Many guys don't look as good as he does in their late 60s---that's true.

I could criticise the woman's looks more easily than his, but I don't want to shame anyone online.

I haven't read this whole thread, but it seems to be a familiar theme. Correct me if I'm wrong. Is this thread saying that women, by virtue of having vaginas, can date any man they want and that they will, therefore, choose the most attractive among those hoards of potential suitors? Just checking.

The vibe I get from threads like this is you have average-to-below-average looking guys who are upset that they're not considered "hot," and thereby have to exert actual effort to get female attention as opposed to having women just throw themselves at them.

As the OP, I'm going to tell you that that's an unfair characterisation of this thread. The emphasis here is on the bottom percentage, as it relates to physical attractiveness, and their inability to get partners, not the top percentage and their ability to get partners. It's not even specifically about men's attractiveness to women. Women can have the same problems with men.

I have exerted plenty of effort to get a relationship, and the skewed ratio of negative experiences vs positive experiences I've had makes it very difficult to believe that I'm in the average range of looks. I'm sure it's not just looks that is the problem, but they're very clearly a contributing factor.

You're right. I'm just used to these types of threads bringing out the, "Looks are the most important thing!" types, so I reacted prematurely.

I apologize. Let me know if you want any replies in this thread pruned in order to keep things on topic.

Easy, no? ;)

I'm a mod. I would love to skip threads and ignore certain posters, but I'm required to stay on top of things.

For example, this thread's been reported for misogyny, so I would've needed to read it regardless.

Some women gather in groups and swipe on guys dating pics and mock them.
Women are more critical I think, as most guys don’t want to date guys so don’t care about men’s looks. Most women wouldn’t find him attractive, you’re probably just part of the few who do.

In my opinion? Nothing, which is why I haven't taken any action.

My point is, if I wasn't a mod, I probably would've not bothered with this thread to begin with. Hell, prior to becoming a mod, I avoided this entire sub-forum.
