I adore green eyes. Seriously. In both sexual an non-sexual way.

My mother is green eyed, and so was her mother (Sadly, she died before I was born). I ended up being brown eyed, but I really love green eyes.

My first bf, I think I melted the moment I saw his eyes: they were bright green but I swear, they could change the shade depending on his clothes, time of the day or even mood! Oh, how I loved his eyes. (He turned out to be a jerk, but that's another story).

Plus, and I don't want to make you uncomfortable Lecks, your eyes are amazing, amazing.

(Same goes for MXH's).

My maternal great-grandmother had green eyes and it seems to have skipped 2 generations since only I and my uncle's oldest daughter have green eyes.

The way eye colour is inherited is a bit tricky to understand. It's not as simple as the game between dominant and recessive genes.

I kind of always wanted to have green eyes, but I assumed mine ended up being brown because my father's eyes were dark, almost black. But no. It's just a matter of coincidence.

Green eyes are the rarest of all natural eye colours, I think (there are certain conditions that can give you purple eyes, but it's more about the condition of that person's eye and blood vessels and not the eye colour itself).

And yes, your eyes are so beautiful and you seem like you have long eyelashes, too. The type of eyes girls are crazy about. I'm serious.

It can be cultural, yes. But it's interesting that in some cultures, what is rare is considered beautiful, while in others, what is the most common is considered beautiful.

And it can be individual: some people are attracted to features/phenotype similar to their own, while others like what is different to what they have.

I have dark eyes and dark hair, but my skin is extremely pale... I guess I was always attracted to guys who were a bit darker; maybe I subconsciously wanted to compensate for my paleness.

But I also think it can be about the parents, and there's nothing to be ashamed of. Sometimes, people are attracted to those who share eye colour/phenotype of their parent of the opposite sex. My father's eyes were dark brown, almost black. And that is my favourite eye colour for a guy.

I don't know if it works that way, but I really love dark eyed men.

I guess I was never in the whole blue eyes hype, though. I never got what is so beautiful about blue eyes per se; it depends on the eyes. Sometimes, they're gorgeous, and sometimes, they look creepy (this goes for all eye colours, I guess, but with blue, it's so noticeable because they are very light).

For example, and this is just my opinion, of course, the eye colour works for Eddie Vedder but not for Rob Lowe.

There are examples like this for all the eye colours, but at the end of the day, it's all individual.

i like all colours. i don't do a lot of eye contact so the colour won't really be noticeable to me. i tend to notice a really good set of eyebrows though as they draw my gaze.

i don't even remember my ex-boyfriends' eye colours. after 20 years together, i do remember that my ex husband had light brown eyes. our daughter has dark brown eyes (almost black).

my eyes are green with a gold centre (central heterochromia), like this person's:

You are right. People here love light-colored eyes. Unfortunately, mine are dark brown. They do not look bad at all, but I think I would look much better with gray eyes.

I like darker shades of green and light shades of hazel. Its the aesthetic appeal not that I prefer these eye colors on a guy.

I really don't care what color they are. Just as long as they are bright, compassionate, and soulful.

I did vote for brown as most of the men I've dated have had brown hair and brown eyes.
