I miss my friend in the US, though I spent all day yesterday talking to her despite the fact I went to Manchester, the invention of mobile telephony and mobile internet is a godsend :D

Missing LuckyBunny at times as he and I don't always share the timezone differences well. :)

Yes, even though I saw her yesterday, she left for the army today, as a chef. Probably wont see her for the next 6 months-two years time, 6 months if i see her around Christmas, 2 years if i don't see her before after I've been to Japan as an exchange student for a year (not this year but next year).

@redscott; ...that's tragic, man.

what do you have to lose by chasing her though? no offence, but you're giving up pretty easily.

Not really as I'm not good at missing people. I never have been. There have been very few whom I have missed and that does not include my parents, despite over 8 years at boarding school. As such, missing someone is a rare event, and simply marks them out as special. :)

I'm missing my friend from the US, I'll get to speak to her later on though, and that's a good thing, she's so sweet and adorable, cutest, prettiest, and sweetest girl I have ever met in my life, nice to have stability now where there was none before

Thanks for your kind words but my counselor is guiding me through the grief process - just the same as if a loved one had died. I'm determined to get over her and move on to new friends &, hopefully, new loves. He told me that after his wife died he spent almost exactly nine months to process the grief before the pain began to subside. I'm forcing myself to get out of the house more often and into new social situations. In fact, this evening, I'm going to a gathering of shamans for a full moon ritual.

Your situation is very much like my own, except that the lady with whom I am obsessed has never married and probably never will, although I certainly wish her love & happiness wherever she may find it.

My counselor would say that you must grieve the loss and move on to find new relationships.

Have you ever had "Stuck Song Syndrome"? That's where a melody gets stuck in your memory and plays over and over in your head until it starts to drive you crazy. Advertising jingles are deliberately designed to do this, as are most junk "Pop" songs. I find that the only way to get rid of a stuck melody is to play some music I love until a much better tune gets stuck in my head & replaces the annoying jingle.

I think the same thing is true for lost loves and obsessions with people who are not available to us. Finding new friends and being open to new emotional relationships will eventually replace the painful loss.

At least I am hoping this is true.
Good luck wi'dat

Hell yes, I miss my girlfriend. Even though she has only gone for 1 day, she takes a piece of my heart with her when she goes
