I'm Julie, 19 years old, and I'm a double major in Neurosciences and Biochemistry and a minor in Drama in the third year of my degree. I want to get my masters in Neurosciences and then go to medical school to be a neurologist.
I'm kind of all over the map, and I've spent my life wanting to be normal, but I live on various ends of the spectrum that can never seem to meet in the middle.
I live with my best friend and two cats. Mine is named Artemis and his is named Battle Cat.
My pride and joy is my hair. It's long and it's red and it's pin straight.
And I'm a burlesque dancer. That is all.

^ JulieValentine :D Why can't more people be like you? Gosh, you sound so interesting and going places...

My name is Homie and I am 20 years old. I was diagnosed at 6, I'm currently getting more psychological testing, and its moving along... s-l-o-w-l-y. I'm a Junior in college, I'm a major in History but will probably get my graduate degree in something else. I will be living on a college campus next semester (which can't come soon enough). I hate athletes but love numbers. I spend most of my time playing baseball simulators.

Physically, I'm on the pudgy side, but I'm tall. People often mistake me for a defensive lineman. I have long red hair and a beard of varying lengths. I love numbers, but I'm no good at math. I love activism. I've struggled intensely at various jobs, but I can cook and I'm good with kids. My little brother Jesse is probably my best friend. I don't have any pets right now... but I want to adopt guinea pigs in the future. I dislike college, but I'm hoping soon I'll have a steady job and be done with it. Notable things about me: Politically, I'm an anarchist, but focus more on social change than governmental change. My favorite band is streetlight manifesto. Socially, you'll notice the issues within a few conversations, but they are mostly non-verbal. I'm a guy who considers himself a feminist, but more because I advocate equality for everyone.

My name is Matt. I'm 22 years old, but I don't feel like I belong to anything in particular. Being an outcast makes it easier to see things clearly, because not having an emotional stake in the outcome does not cloud my judgment. I'm very interested in human behavior and why people act the way they do. I'm also interested in how societies affect the way people act, and how to design a society that would ease the traditional tensions we have seen throughout history. I think the world is a big joke, which is why I'm gravitating towards stand up comedy. I'm already known among my friends for going on long winded rants about nothing, so the next step is to take that to a stage with a microphone. I've already done an open mic, and I want to do one more before the end of the year. I've written about 100 pages of social observations, so I just need to make that into a more specific document and go from there. I'm in college finishing up my A.A. degree, but this is more to say I have a degree than for any specific career. It's a fallback for what I really want to do.

I also have an interest in professional wrestling and it's history, as well as chess and sports, mainly basketball and tennis. I've taken up dance for the last year or so, and I'm pretty good now, considering that I used to be afraid of dancing. I've found the secret to performance is to let your natural self shine through. The best way to make an impression is to focus on the impression itself, not the person. Trying to impress someone never works, and I've learned this firsthand through comedy. The best laughs are when you aren't trying to be funny, and it's no different while on stage. What I need now is structure. I've taken all that my family can give me, I've seen all that formal education has to offer, and now it's time to move on to bigger and better things.

I'm Brad, and I'm 22.

I am short and I don't consider myself to be attractive. I never had much chances with women, no matter how hard I try (oh well! :P). Maybe it doesn't help that I program and reverse engineer programs.....and I sometimes think about all sorts of stuff like assembly language mnemonics, code optimization, hardware virtualization (emulation), audio signal processing, and graphics algorithms like how shadows are processed...Which weirded out my social worker :P I am quite strong minded, so I can have some extremely intense debates on subjects like censorship, hacking, and similar subjects on ethics. I guess my Aspergian traits then are quite noticeable, but I don't mind.

I am unemployed and living on a disability support pension. Tried recently applying for a computer job, got denied though. Maybe it was to do with me not being a confident speaker and clamming up.

Most days, I program, play computer games, hack other computer programs & games, spend time on MSN
As for romance/love though, I am keen for a relationship, but it just hasn't turned out right yet.

My name is Chris and I'm 28 years old and I live in Norman, Oklahoma. I have a Bachelor's degree in communication. I speak English and Arabic. I am pursuing a career in nursing.

I have never been diagnosed with a disorder, but I'm certain that I do have AS. I've always felt that something is different about me. My obsession is DC and Marvel comics, to the point that I will rarely read anything else. I specifically play fighting games and rarely play any other type of videogames.

I have difficulty understanding non-verbal communication and social cues. I hate "parties" and large social events as they make me uncomfortable, and I always end up looking for a corner to hide in. I prefer one-on-one conversations and social situations. It is usually hard for me to approach new people, but I do well when people approach me, and I'm more outgoing and talkative once I get to know someone. I often feel that I can easily start talking to people if I'm put into a "marketplace" type of situation. People often tell me that I have a monotone voice and that they can't always tell when I'm joking or being sarcastic, and my voice often gets too loud without me noticing. I used to think I might have weak hearing, as its sometimes difficult for me hear what people are saying to me, especially if if I didn't know they were there. But I've realized that I can hear and identify non-verbal sounds very well, and I do have a sensory delay where I do realize what the person was saying a moment later. I have very good eyesight, and can distinguish colors and details from a good distance. I am very articulate, and have an excellent understanding of grammar (in both English and Arabic) and a large vocabulary, but sometimes don't understand how to use language properly in social situations. Even though it is difficult for me to understand or interrupt the feelings of others, I can easily empathize with people who are in obvious distressful situations, such as being injured, physically disabled, or hungry.

My father was physically abusive to me and my sister. My mother got us away from him at an early age by marrying a Libyan and moving away to Libya. I lived in Benghazi, Libya, for over 13 years. I went to the public schools and was educated in Arabic. I returned to the US and went to college when I was 20. When I recently tried to get back to my family, the local government was very difficult about granting me a visa, and after waiting over a year in the US and four more months in Egypt, I gave up and decided to focus on getting a job here. I was homeless for a couple of months before I managed to get a job. Never liked living in Libya anyway. Being an Aspie's hard enough without being foreign as well.

I had never been on a date or kissed a girl until I was 24. I dated one girl for two months and had one serious relationship that lasted a little over two years. Women have occasionally flirted with me, and I wonder if it has happened more often but I never could tell. I often feel like the girls I know always tell me that they like me only as a friend.

I was raised Muslim, but I' more of an Agnostic now.

My name is Cornelia (not my real name but I don't like that name), I'm 17

intending to be a International Studies/Computer Programming double major next year

favorite colors: grey and green (darker varieties)

I play oboe and (poor) percussion.

Random 'likes': Settlers of Catan, Nick Sagan, Star Wars, Dr Who, Firefly, computers, riding my bike, camping, having short curly hair, coats, xkcd, Dresden Codak, Japanese art, the Clash, the Kinks, the Ramones, Dead Kennedys, the Smiths, Bank Gothic (a font in Word 2003; they were more stupid than usual and got rid of it), politics, archery, funny sci-fi, fantasy that's really good without being stereotypical epic fantasy, LOTR (but not Aragorn), cool words, bread, tea...

Random dislikes: flowers, chick flicks, stupid humor, innuendo jokes (unless they're really witty and subtle), my parents, shoes (Hey, you're not a girl with size 13 feet.), pop music, clothing that is so tight/sheer I practically have to plan my entire day around a way to wear it without exposing myself, any sort of sauce or dressing...

I once had a boyfriend; he was too emotionally needy, so I broke up with him--it's hard to date someone when you don't understand half the things he does.

I've never been diagnosed, but I'm very sure I have Asperger's. Throughout middle school I was convinced I was a sociopath because it was the only thing I ever found where one or two of the traits matched me; then I started reading about AS. Obvious breakthrough! I have never been to therapy; I'm not sure if I would enjoy it/find it useful or if it would be horrible. I have very good distance vision but poor hearing and am very poor at reading faces (although I can recognize them if I remind myself to keep track of new people).

I can deal with social situations that involve my friends or my interests (I founded two clubs, Fantasy/Sci-fi and Technology, at my high school; those meetings were always fine), but I absolutely despise gatherings where I have to put up with a bunch of new people or where I'm forced to conform to a certain standard of behavior to get by.

I'm up for talking to anyone, so if you would like to PM me you can.

it has no other master lol

hello ladies, I have come here as well to flaunt my fantastic achievements from when I decided to choose awesomeness as a career til now
in my spare time i enjoy finding a random piece of sheet metal, constructing a dune buggy with my bare hands, driving across a barren tundra with my eyes closed, climb a mountain in nothing but shorts and have my feet put in heavily weighted cement blocks, then proceed to feed a nest of eagles with food I gathered on my journey-regurgitated personally I might add.

Hello. My name is Ian and I am 17 and a half. I was diagnosed with ADD in Kindergarten and later, Asperger's Syndrome in the 7th grade after extensive tests throughout the latter half of my 6th and the bginning of my 7th year. At the time, I was bullied very badly because I was strange and tried but failed at fitting in. The stress of bullying made me homeschool my way through the latter half of the 8th grade. And by 9th, I had resolved to closing myself off from everyone. 9th and 1th were a cake walk despite that I had less than five close friends and was extremely lonely. Because of my ADD, OCD, and bad motor skills, homework and schoolwork had always been a problem for me, so I again went into homeschool in the 11th grade, where I honed my motor skills by talking on forums. And now, I've come a long way from the lonely and stressed little boy I was in middle school. I've begun to talk to people at school, and through this process, I have made about 9 or so friends. I play Yugioh at tournaments with a couple of my friends every saturday, play mmos with a new friend of mine in study hall who also has AS, and attend a club where my random and absurd sense of humor has helped me become good friends with a couple of other students who are into manga.

I like a lot of things and attempt to expand my interests whenever possible. Some staple things are the subject of Biology(particularly marine and xenobiology), astronomy, cosmology, astrophysics, and other natural sciences. I'm somewhat into video games, but they recently began to lose my interest. However, I am into tabletop rpg's like Dungeons and Dragons. My favorite franchise ever is Star Wars. I'm such a Star Wars nerd that I possess a nearly complete professional Jedi Costume and multiple serious lightsabers(a blue fx one, a custom made orange one, and a custom made double bladed green one) as well as a collection of Star Wars Action Figures and items. I have a very extensive knowledge of the canon, despite having not read most of the literature(wookieepedia has swallowed my life at times) I hope to join the Star Wars costuming group known as the Rebel Legion in April when I turn 18.
I have a love for sci-fi/fantasy literature, despite never having time to read. Sometimes I do, but can't finish books because my ADD makes it very hard for me to stay interested with one book. Usually, I'm reading at least 5 books at the same time. I also have a love of certain films that accomplish storytelling revolving around themes that would be tough to represent well through books, like The Fountain or Black Swan. I am big into breath diving and hope to finally get certified to scuba dive over the summer if not sooner.

I live with 5 dogs and 3 siblings, two of which are adopted. the youngest sibling, my brother from Taiwan, also has a mental disorder like me, called Attachment Disorder, which is very tough to explain. He has gone through two families before us, and each gave him up because he was too much. In fact, my brother came to live with us on the day of my birthday party on the request of a former family friend who dove in too deep. We officially adopted him soon after and I immediately accepted him as my brother. We're very close, despite being 9 years apart. I play video games with him and serve as his role model. He actually loves me more than out parents and cries when he's seperated from me for long periods of time. My dogs are also very close to me. I have 5 dogs: a Jack Russell, two long-haired chihuahuas and their now one year old puppy, and a rescued Papillon named Gary who is attached to me more than anyone else. Gary is an interesting dog. He was kept in a cage at a pet shop from the day he was ready to leave his mother until he was about 7 months old. My mother left me at gamestop in the mall one day to head to dillards and decided to enter the pet store because she's very fond of dogs. She saw Gary, who is freakishly large for his breed and lacks properly pricked ears. An attendant told her that nobody wanted him because he did not look purebred, so my mom surprised me by telling me she was getting a new dog, and to tell my father who somewhat hates dogs, that we found him. They cut down the price because they wanted to be rid of him and we took him home. I immediately noted how polite and well-mannered the puppy was. And soon, I also found out how eccentric he was. I have never come across a stranger dog than Gary, who acts more like a cat than a dog. Gary's mannerisms are extremely abnormal for a dog but I don't want to add to the already astounding wall of text by explaining, so I'll just end the fact that we call him the aspiedog in my home. Despite that, I love him very much, I talk to him like a person kind of like someone would to an imaginary friend, and I'm afraid of going to college because I know i'll have to leave him, and I know neither of us will handle it well. He cries constantly when seperated from me, just like my brother.

I have two pianos that I love to pieces. I recently began teaching myself piano after seeing the sci-fi movie Moon because the theme music would not leave my head. Now, I write and compose music and have played almost every day since I first started in July.

I consider myself an excellent storyteller, and have been writing drafts and short stories for two years in collaboration with my severely ASd friend Howard, whom I have looked after and been friends with since the 7th grade. He helps me come up with ideas and collaborates with me in worldbuilding. I hope to eventually seriously get into writing as a side. The job I'm really planning on getting is as a marine biologist, my childhood dream.

Well, That's all I have to say.

My name is Jordan, I'm a musical nut. I have turquoise eyes and red hair, which I am proud of. I love being a rarity. :D I love a lot of things and hate very little. One of the things I hate is causing others pain. I despise it. I hate seeing people in pain, and I will do whatever I can to get them out of it. I absolutely hate money, because of what it does to people. I deal with it as it is a necessary evil. That doesn't stop my hate for it.

I love listening to people, and I love hearing what they have to say. I'm very personal. As in, I'll give everything about myself to anyone, I'm proud of who I am. I know it may be something naive to do, but I do know how to have caution. I am very loving. I want to love and be loved. As loving as I am, I have hurt some people, and I will regret it for the rest of my life. The first woman I loved is a great example. What I did to her will be with me until the day I die. However, from that I have learned how to truly love and cope in a relationship.

Foodwise, I'll eat anything as long as it does not have pickles, mint, mustard or olives in it. And I eat a lot. I gain no weight from it. In fact, I've actually LOST four pounds this week. Which angers me. I thought for sure from all the eating I've done I'd gain something. I do love seafood though. Any form of meat, I like. Except poultry. For some reason, I just don't like it. I don't and can't eat junk food, as it makes me sick. As a result, I only eat natural.

Asperger's syndrome has given me both greatness and grief. I'm pretty intelligent, my iq is 111, which I attribute to it. My musical ability benefits a lot from the pattern business. As a downside, I'm extremely shy. I accidentally offend people. I really have no idea how to proceed in a conversation. I do try to improve though, and it has been working quite a bit over the past year.

I'm quite in touch with my emotions, I will cry if I find something sad, and when I'm happy, I'll show it. I view emotion as strength, where others believe it as weakness.

I'm a skinny 120 pounds at a short 5 foot 4. I am trying to gain weight but, as I said, it's so hard for me. v_v I don't think myself as attractive. I know I'm not ugly, but I don't think I'm physically attractive. I have the worst teeth. :\ And my eyes are very striking as I'm told. Which I think makes people uncomfortable.

I have my mother and sister, whom I am very close with. I love them both more than life itself. I have a step family, whom I am learning to love. It's been a little rough, but it's been a success so far. I have two cats, who I also love quite dearly. I also count in my three bass guitars as my beloved family. I have a guitar that I've only just recently began to love. I love playing it with a bow.

I'm looking forward to reading about you guys.

My name is Andy! I am 22 years old. I am not the least bit shy and I'm not afraid to tell people how I feel about things. I am decisive and when I am with someone who is indecisive, I am quick to make decisions. I am a libertarian and I am fascinated by politics. Most of my time is spent thinking. I think myself to sleep! I have a very wry sense of humor and I enjoy making people laugh. It is something I am quite good at! Listening to people and exchanging stories is something I enjoy very much!

I am currently attending a college so I can get an expensive piece of paper that says I know something about computers. It's kinda tough! I love computers and I love anything electronic. To put it succinctly, I love technology! What really fascinates me is how things work and how they're put together. Taking stuff apart is very fun to me.

Now for looks! I have greenishbluishgrayish eyes and I have dark red hair (currently short!). I am thin and tall standing at roughly 6 feet.

Musicwise, I almost exclusively to electronic music and sometimes to underground rap. Music that pushes the limits of their sound chips fascinates me because I love to see how much power old machines have. I compose music as a hobby and I also draw (badly!).

I enjoy hanging out with unique people who share interests similar and dissimilar to mine. I am often the computer guy of my group!

that is all for now. if you want to know more, you can go to hell!

or if you would prefer not to go to hell, just message me!

Hi, My name is Alison and I am married to an aspie man. The reason that I have joined here is that I am a newbie when it comes to aspergers and understanding it and would like to understand my marriage better.

Interests include, painting, nature, design, writing, gardening, animals, violin, guitar and bodhran. My claim to fame was learning Russian at second level education. I believe in a loving God.

I love my pet greyhound sooooooo much.

I am an NT as far as I know, but share some aspie type traits such as having intense interests, awkward socially, prefer my own company and sometimes prefer activities to people. But those characteristics can be explained I think due to my childhood experience of being alone alot.
I completed one of those self diagnotistic tests just out of interest and scored just below the asperger threshhold. So I feel that I can understand in some respect what aspie folk experience, even though I am NT.

Anyway, this is a very busy site so I think that there's loads to learn, lol.

Hello my name is Jonni. Pronouced Johnny...however I am female. (This is where people ask what my real name is or my real, real name. As if there's a difference and I tell you, you caught me my real names bob but it was too masculine so I went with Jonni.) I am 30 as of Dec. I'm waiting for the day that I grow up although I feel as if sometimes I'm cursed and it's never going to happen. I have a wonderful 10 year old son I love and adore him however I wish not to have anymore nor do I like other peoples.
I am presently or at least was as of this morning not real sure now in a relationship. I compeletely despise living on my own. I think it is the hardest thing ever to grasp. I often get frustrated at knowing I'm 30 and feeling as though I'm just going through preteens. I have a yellow lab named Chloe who I swear is aspies herself. Thus I LOVE my dog or at least when she's not shedding and eating my tennis shoes. I am presently reattending college for a computer networking degree however prior to that I was attending college for a pshycology degree. I suffer from mass anxiety, and at the present am kind of looking to make connections with people who can relate.
I suppose after that there isn't much interesting.
Pleasent meeting you all.
