I think there is some sort of recognition between mammals. We immediately notice the difference between a baby kitten and an old cat. I think other mammals also notice when a mammal of a different species is young, such as that chimp feeding the tiger. I don't know if it is this one, but I remember reading about a mother chimp whose baby died, and she sort of adopted a baby tiger after that.

I think so too. I remember seeing some documentary about the human brain, in it they tested young children, I cannot remember if the children were 2 or 4 years old, but it turned out that children under a certain age could recognize different ape faces. They could distinguish different individuals from looking at pictures of their faces. I found that very interesting, that ability is apparently something that we loose after a certain age.

I think cats also recognise the difference between adult humans and little humans. The cat would also teach me not to be annoying to her by slapping me. She helped raise me

haha so true!
I remember when I went on the train from the Netherlands to Brussels, it was so funny when we arrived and the conductor was speaking english (you could clearly here his french accent) . I really sounded like he was making fun of english speaking french people, a lot worse than Peter Sellers inspector Clouseau! I saw other tourists on the train also just started laughing
