That is an example of a very female reply. Trying to defuse a potentially hostile situation with diplomatic reply of a somewhat "cute" nature.

Well, yeah, I just thought it was a joke, and I didnt really want to make a genital-based joke back as it would look weird so I tried to make a quirky one, and I do like ducks.

I sometimes try to defuse situations, but actually I only started doing that a few years ago, before about 2006 I often had no idea that hostile situations were even occurring. My toolbox nowadays is pretty basic still.

This sentence -- very male. "You people" -- I never hear a woman say that. Same with the "wrong side of". Sounds like something Rush would say.

Ridiculous. This is an apolitical topic, yet you hide behind a strawman.

And yes, you are still dodging. What's the problem, can't you man up and admit that you don't have any proper arguments?

And this is a good example of a man impersonating a woman. The speech pattern is very similar to that found on "Kid in the Hall". Frantic with more complex words.

This is actually the only site I'm on where I've not once been accused of being a male.
I'd be very interested to learn any actual studies of male versus female language,
and also how that's impacted by AS.

Good lord you guys have already acknowledged that his/her gender is largely irrelevant to his/her points, why do you keep picking on it?

Ray Kurzweil not only references The Futurist many times, but Ray himself is a Republican.

The Singularity is a right-wing concept, not a left-wing one, given that it ties to the free market, libertarian small-government ideas, etc.

I do find it necessary to mention to 'Starrygirl' again that the Singularity is a very right-wing, free-market, no government concept, and that Ray Kurzweil is a Republican/Libertarian.

The last few posts have been about gendered language in general. :?

You'll notice that we've several times started to discuss tangibly-related things ourselves, and then he'll burst in with insults and accusations in a desperate attempt to keep the focus on him.

That or nanobots. Personally I cannot wait to be a hyperintelligent electronic or cybernetic being. Again, more singularity stuff.

Do you really want something wired that deep into your mind that someone else built and programmed though? Someone clever enough could have a LOT of zombies picking bananas for them.

Does that mean that we will be zombie robot monkeys? Honestly, I was hoping to have the ability to one day transfer my sentience into a cat. Because being a hyperintelligent kitten empress would be much more appealing than a zombie robot monkey picking bananas.

I guess the subject of language and gender is more interesting than the debate that one or two people here seem to want to have.

Im afriad to read it.
From the comments I surmise it must be a rather toxic text.

I was thinking more zombie robot Hatians where nanobots substitute for the pufferfish toxin. Sad to say I just don't trust humanity much, not to say that there aren't lots of truly wonderful people out there who want the best for people out there, just that those with a real lust for power and all the wrong intentions often live for gaining it and nothing else while those who'd be best the best stewards/guardians of power wouldn't want it.
