Are you referring to me?

I don't follow.

Yes, you don't pull any punches in your posts, they are rather uncompromising in fact. It was a compliment....

When having your preconception challenged makes you puzzled, maybe you should realize it's irational?

That sounds pretty hostile.

Ah, no- was commenting on someone trying to guess randomly at some flaw I might have,
rather than rejecting their notion that the average Jane has men dueling with pistols over her at dawn.

Now who's projecting? ;)

There's a big difference between "not having men dueling with pistols over her" and "never ever being approached by a single man in her entire life".

I guess I don't know that much about girls or guys and the way they typically behave...

If I can be extremely candid and frank, I don't think anybody does if I'm honest. All we can do is speculate.
It may be because we do not know our true selves or some new age conspiracy (I've been reading Osho, take no notice )

I don't remember citing my experience as representative,
merely as what would appear to be a surprising exception to the many bald-faced male declarations about the experience of women,
which truly do in many cases resemble my analogy in their hyperbole.

That reminds me of a Woody Allen quote, which I'll paraphrase: "I AM an optimist...I see the glass half full....half full of poison."
