It's probably for all genders here, Boo's post inspired:

If you can't trust me, how could you expect me to trust you? And if we can't trust each other, then we are clearly incompatibile.

Yes, trust is earned. This is probably why my relationships progressed so slowly.

I thought this is a venting thread? it is not for being questioned.

I was just curious what "stupid tests" you meant.

Not opposite sex but as a bi woman I can kind of answer.

A lot of femmes and straight teenage girls in the 00s used to take funny tests and put their answers on Myspace.

Like 'what ice cream flavour are you'. They mean absolutely nothing and are a waste of time.

Don't expect people to take those quizzes.

Is that still a thing though?

Is that what you meant? Cos that is kind of annoying. Esp if they expect other people to take those tests.

I thought it was a reference to "shit-testing", i.e. doing things like intentionally starting fights just to see how your partner reacts, to gauge how much bad behaviour you can get away with.

I'm glad to live in a different culture.

The rest I totally accept.

Btw, why in hell you associated this with 'culture'? In my case it is due to experiences and has nothing to do with culture.

Not really, concrete examples: ie. a girl I dated used to insist to split the bill, I was thinking she was progressive but she admitted later that it was a test to see whether I am 'stingy' or not (that was a very low test).
And my ex used to throw extremely subtle hints testing me if I will understand what she needs on the fly (like wanting flowers on her bday while her only hint was a profile pic on fb)...etc. I would call them drama tests more than anything.

NT women are annoying.

If you want something, tell someone. If it's a special occasion, your birthday or you're reciprocating, they'll likely get you something back.

To be fair though this works well with my stepdad who I think is aspie. I can outright ask him on his birthday 'would you like to go on a boat trip' then mum invites him out on one that night and he's surprised. So maybe we get more surprises than most in return.

Lots of aspies, myself included, don't like surprises though.

Some people don't agree with my stance that opposite-sex friendships should not exist within marriage. Some people might say that it is old-fashioned and that men and women are perfectly capable of having platonic extra-marital friendships with a person of the opposite sex.

In cases where the friendship involves two people who have absolutely no sexual attraction to each other and who are not sexually compatible whatsoever, that is true.
Maybe I'm demisexual, I don't know - but the thing is - these friendships need to be absolutely asexual to be comfortable. The boundaries need to be absolutely clear. Not everyone gets it but I don't need to be close friends with everyone.
When my now-husband first met me, he was pretty close with my then-closest friend (male). Maybe it was important that he could see first hand what these friendships look like before entering the relationship.

Eh, maybe my example was a bit extreme, but I'd put those tests in the same general category; "I'll do this, and how he reacts will reflect how I view him as a person."

I totally agree it's stupid.

Sexist attitudes all over the place are seeing guys dropping like flies from suicides. Feminism totally overlooked humanism.

But plus wanted the flowers she so subtly hinted about.

Not really what the thread's about, but here you go. I've lost enough friends to see the pattern.

I haven't been paying too much attention to this thread, but the above is an utterly ignorant and unsupported comment.
