But conservatives and liberals can be subdivided by fiscal conservative/liberal (vote a certain way regarding the economy, foreign policy, etc.) and social conservative/liberal (vote a certain way regarding abortion, same-sex marriage, etc.)
Texas is half-Catholic, half-Baptist, and is generally both fiscally conservative and socially conservative. We have more Fortune 500 companies than any other state in the U.S., so we're very business-oriented. With the exceptions of Austin and Houston, Texas is socially conservative as well.
Dallas is a blue city/county now. Local and national elections lately have been heavily democrat dominated.
