Hi everyaspy, just signed up at Aspyaffection:
http://www.aspieaffection.com/romance/s ... hp?id=1037
I'm 40yo but really young-looking,got told by an Aspy I looked 28 last week.
13 years since I last had a girlfriend or 'got lucky'
Byork-"It's oh so quiet,sh,sh,sh
& then Love
starts another big Riot"
If this works.
I submitted a poll in Aspyaffection but it hasn't come up & there aren't any other polls-is that more negligence by the site admin?

I feel as though I am reducing myself to incredibly desperate measures, but I'm not rolling in viable opportunities here (No offence to anyone else on the forum. I felt that I had to say something to maintain some dignity.)
Essentials: 19 year-old straight male music major in north-east Ohio (Guess which city)
Interests:
Piano, singing (opera), composing, conducting, philosophy, meta ethics, metaphysics (primarily epistemology), politics, linguistics
(I'm not pretentious though)
Political Views: Moderate leaning toward Libertarianism.
Religious Views: I hold the canonic gospels as central dogma but incorporate many ideas of practice from other religions. I do not buy into an established religion. My view of the spiritual world is best explained in the Glenn Gould recording of J.S. Bach's Prelude and Fugue in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I. As far as ethical principles go, I adhere to Utilitarian Hedonism.
Looking for: Someone who will NOT shut the hell up, isn't afraid to discuss issues of consequence, and isn't afraid to disagree with me.
Positive Attributes:
My standards of ethics in interpersonal relationships are excessively high. Ergo, I will always be attentive, loyal, and straightforward.
I pride myself on my vocabulary.
I can sing and play the piano (I don't generally do both simultaneously, although I can).
This list of things about which I'm will to speak is vast.
I have a relative inclusive theory of mind.
Negative Attributes:
I talk rather excessively (I don't really find this to be a negative, but...).
I lack discipline.
I am THE Grammar Police.
I can intellectually freak myself out pretty badly.
Neutral Attributes that may be of consequence:
I very much enjoy physical affection. (This means that I like to cuddle, not that I'm a nymphomaniac.)
I practice piano several hours per day.
I am always listening to music and 80% of the time, that music is concert music (known to most as "classical", although that term really only encompasses the music from 1750-1820).
Okay.....I am a little pretentious (but I'm not mean).
I speak fluent German.
I apologise if the personality description is inadequate or inaccurate. I, like most people, don't have a clue how I come off to others.

Ah, don't worry about it. We gave ours up ages ago.

Or had it beaten out of us.

If people wouldn't think of dating sites as "places for losers" or "last chance"-things, they could protect themselves from many kinds of disappointment. I mean, you meet someone on the bus or in class, and try to get acquainted, but you don't see anything written beside her (like relationship status, basic traits and conditions, interests, possible similarities), and it can be very annoying. On a site you can review a person before contacting. They are just more useful.
Yet I just started the process of accepting virginity for life (having the stupidly old-fashioned idea of "no sex without love" imprinted on an instinctual level), and preparing for maturer goals than chasing such a romantic concept.Everyone I know tells me it's too early to "give up" at the age of 18. But I think age does not count, it's about realizing you cannot get anyone. What do you think?

"...unless you have a morbid fear of dying."
The whole point of dating sites is to create a profile, send out messages to a dozen people with interesting profiles, recieve messages from a dozen people who are wholly unappealing (at least one couple twice your age with unspeakable intentions), for about 2 months wonder why nobody ever replied to you ,for 6 months completely forget you have a profile , remember, log in, find a reply from one of the people you sent a message to... that was sent 5 months ago. Their status now says 'in a relationship'. Bugger.
But still worth a try!
The last time I was single there was no internet dating and hardly any internet. It's taken me more than a year to figure it out, but I think there is no one suitable for me within 500 miles. I never would have figured that out without internet dating. Now when I search further up the east coast and points west things look more promising. I find internet dating to be a great way to, well, comparison shop, and on-line I meet the mind before I meet the body.
As an aspie, the whole eye-contact mating ritual thing doesn't work very well for me. Definitely something for "losers."
On the other hand, internet dating seems to be made for aspies.
If normal guys are only really compatable with 2% of the available women near their age and location, and aspie guys are only compatable with .2%, it becomes more important to cast a very wide net, not for a large number of responses, but in order to find that special one.

I actually seem to have the hang of
eye flirting. Just not while talking.
Oh, and I do it more like women do -
I guess one can tell whom I like to
watch.
Hi. I'm Rob, 46, single, living in Brisbane Qld. Originally from UK, I came to Oz in 1989.
I'm into wildlife photography and am a bit of a 'greenie'. I enjoy the beach and walking in National Parks.
I have a great sense of humour tending towards the very silly (Spike Milligan, Monty Python, Goodies).
I like sci-fi and fantasy (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc.) and my all time favourite superhero is Robocop - "Go Robo!" I also find Hammer House of Horror movies very funny, particularly some of Vincent Price's films.
I enjoy most sports but particularly follow soccer. Sports that don't do much for me are things like Synchronised Swimming and Rugby League.
Musically, in the 70's I was into Glam Rock, my fav band of all time being The Sweet. I then discovered Ritchie Blackmore and still listen to music by bands such as Rainbow, Black Sabbath, etc. although I also love Pop and was a big fan of Abba. I'm certainly not into stuff like Rap.
Who am I looking for? Well, now that I know what my problem is, I'd like to find somebody who will come with me on my journey of discovery. I know I have so much to offer and with the help of sites like this I now have a glimmer of hope that the future may not be so bleak.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
And Iam even older! 48, but as I spent a great deal of my life asleep, my age doesnt really count as Ive been awake about as much as a 35 year old which is why I look so young with all this hair and teeth and stuff, flat stomach, hair less back, pleasant smile, (eventually),(actually Iam not that bad unless Iam tierd).
I am interested in Old English Motorcycles, living in a cottage in the woods by a lake with somebody I Love, and truth, especailly religious and political truth, ie, I belive 911 was an inside Job and that we must not submit to the New World Order.
I love frogs and toads and my life long ambition was to have some land that I could turn into an amphibian heaven.
I like girls with a waist and who dont like shopping, parties, discos, wingeing, nagging or smelling like a horse's hoof.
Heres me 5 years ago (Iam the one with glasses)

Ive aged a hell of a lot since then due to Lonelyness and sexual frustration.
As you might expect, I am incrediably boring but eventually that phase passes and Iam quite interesting and Loveable, (or so my mum never told me).
I live in the South of London but can travel some distance depending on how big your breasts are.
Updated Entry
My name is Tim. I am 27 years old (will be 28 in December), and I live in Wichita Falls, Texas, about 115 miles west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I am a junior at Midwestern State University, majoring in geology.
I like animated sitcoms, geology, art, architecture (both buildings and landscaping), foreign languages and cultures. In terms of music, I like pretty much anything but country.
I am socially liberal, and not very political.
Location is not important for a potential mate, since I am not planning to stay in Wichita Falls after graduation.
Here are the qualities I am looking for: Honest, caring, goal-oriented, has a good sense of humor, will love me unconditionally, preferably with at least some of the same interests and beliefs
If you like what you see, feel free to PM me. Yes, that's me on my avatar.
Tim
