We all know that certain acts are illegal. Sex without consent and sex with a minor are two examples. And there are acts that, while not against the law, would be deemed perverted by others, though in many (if not all) cases, this is really a matter of opinion.

Suppose someone cautiously avoids any illegal sexual activity, but has fantasies that, if carried out, might be considered illegal. Do you think there is such a thing as a fantasy that goes too far?

Here's a sad confession.

I go to sleep and I have erotic dreams of my own wife.

Dammit they are MY dreams. Surely I could throw in a few young movie stars.

But no.. I only have erotic dreams about my own wife.

But what's wrong with that? It's enviable!

It's very simple. When the other person says no, it's gone too far.

I believe there are some states where anything except the missionary position is illegal..

I think that as long as you can distinguish it from reality, the fantasy hasn't gone too far. It's your own mind for Pete's sake. We need not judge thoughts when actions are what matter most.

when i was in high school (i think... not too sure about the names) me and my few (and severely outsider ) friends used to imagine a supertotalitarian society, before even knowing about orwell,
my idea was gun turrets on rooftops that would detect high levels of stress hormone, and well... shoot on detection

As long as you can keep the fantasy/reality barrier intact, then why not?

Just be careful to never put yourself in too close a situation as your fantasy or you might be unable to resist the temptation. For example (and I'll keep this tame in this forum), let's say your fantasy is to "do something to someone while they are passed out/sleeping". Don't put yourself in a situation where you are alone and in proximity to someone who is passed out unless you're 100% sure you won't cross the line.

Of course, this is totally okay if it is a consenting adult like a wife or girlfriend and you've either talked about it in advance or are playing (like he/she is pretending to be asleep for the fantasy). In that case, perv-out baby! Ain't nobody's binness but your own! W0ot!

I won't go into too much detail, but I find one of my fantasies almost irresistibly tempting. It involves no violence or anything. The problem is, I'm worried that people might be offended if they knew, and as I mentioned in another thread, I'm having auditory hallucinations.

Are they partly due to the fantasy itself, or to my occasional decision to avoid the fantasy, or to my anxiety in regard to it? I must wonder about these things. The longest I managed to avoid it was about six weeks, and the voices didn't go away.

It would be nice if I had a way to decide once and for all which actions were appropriate and which weren't. It might relieve some of my pain. One of my hallucinations comments, "You're a painful person!" I don't want to be.

I know someone who fantasizes about ripping flesh and eating it. He doesn't act it out, so it's fine. I doubt yours is as bad as that, lol.

I guess it would depend on the individual/s, but yeah some fantasies can go out of control. Ummm..not sure if I can give one example here, it's a little controversial and from a story I heard, kind of disturbing. But as long as the two parties are consenting and they know their boundaries...then I think it's completely safe legal or not. > >

So my answere would be yes and no.

I see it's divided about half and half, now... I wish I could just know these things!

It depends on what the fantasy is and how far it goes.
