Some people here seem to really be against the idea. my one AS friend says he doesnt want to ever be in a relationship again, because it's too much work. much less marriage.
I feel so depressed about it sometimes, and feel like I'll never find the right guy, and wouldnt be good enough for him. but i would really love to get happily married anyways. that's like, my dream.
Whats your opinion?

Nah, it makes things complicated, I think that when you do not marry, you are more "free".

I don't want to get married, just live with someone.

Yes and No. I wouldn't like to live the rest of my life alone, but at the same time, I know that getting married doesn't just involve me and someone I love, but it will include (living with and dealing with) her family and my family as well. A frightening thought indeed. :shaking:

Absolutely; we plan on getting married either this fall or next.

I've been there done that already. 20 years of history. 10 years together. 6 years married. It was good while it lasted but I have no desire to do it again.

Marry an orphan single child.

I don't have anything against marriage, but I hate weddings.

I think I would have loved marriage back in the day before you could easily divorce... It's not so much the status of married that I like, but the idea that I know she wouldn't leave me for "the next thing to come along"... that alone is worth more than anything else in the world. I know it's not realistic, and almost all relationships tend to end, but I would give almost anything to be with someone for the rest of my life. Then I would never have to be alone again...

Been there, done that. It's not worth it and will never do it again. I have a girlfriend and she lives in her house and i live in mine. We see each other when time permits. That is the ideal relationship.
