I don’t perceive it as devaluing his love interest in any way; he is merely saying that he misses her so much it's having a tangible physical effect on him.

Yeah; I agree; I only read it as a cute way of saying he misses her.

Hmm, interesting. I've never had a crush in my entire life. Even after one relationship ended, it took me only a week to get over it. Any romantic relationship is pretty much a cost-benefit thing for me; you know, buying flowers and stuff in exchange for intimacy. If the cost begins to outweigh the benefit of a relationship, out it goes.

Doubt it. Partly cos Id be afraid of doing or saying something REALLY STUPID and f*cking everything up again if i saw her. Its bad enough trying to stop myself blurting stuff like the title of this thread online, in person its impossible like you WOULDNT believe...

(And believe me in that, even though I havent seen her since I decided to try to just forget about anything more and just concentrate on rebuilding our friendship (and there IS good news there, we do seem to be pretty much back where we were before she found out about my feelings, the hard part is maintaining that))
