1-how much height of a guy is important for you?
2- How much is your height?
3- is a height less than 6 feet a turn off?
4- is a height less than 5.5 feet a turn off?

Not a lady, but do ask this of some women I date, so have a couple of data points.

1. Not really important
2. 5'4"
3. No. Too tall
4. No.
# In my opinion, her being short forced her to recognize a big difference in height as being uncomfortable.

1. Important
2. 6'2"
3. Yes
4. Definately.
# In my opinion, she was slight confused. Claimed she wouldn't date anyone less than 6' but I was shy by two inches and we went out a few times. However, ~6" shorter seemed to draw a definate "NO" as she did like to wear heels and this would simply make the discrepency even more extreme.

1. Not really
2. 5'10"
3. No
4. No
# Doesn't seem to care much about the height issue. I believe a dwarf would be out of the question, however she has the flexibility of range as she's not too tall. In addition, she had a penchant for asian men so the average height falls a few inches below caucasians.

It doesn't really matter to me. I've dated guys that are the exact height as me (5'3"). Both of the guys I've dated were on the short side. The one I'm scheduled to meet (if it stops getting canceled) is 6 ft. So it'll be different in some ways, I guess. Overall, it doesn't matter.

For some reason my mom told me to avoid dating short guys because, "they have a need to compensate for being short so they tend to be jerks." Personally, I think this is a ridiculous generalization made about short people by the tall.

1. It isn't.
2. About 5'9" if I'm slouching (5'8" if I'm REALLY being lazy) to 5'10" when I can be bothered to stand up straight.
3. No. I don't get the little 5 foot tall princesses who won't date anyone not six four. Jesus. Do you CRAVE protection that badly? Learn to throw a punch.
4. No.

1-how much height of a guy is important for you? - reasonably important.
2- How much is your height? 5'5
3- is a height less than 6 feet a turn off? No
4- is a height less than 5.5 feet a turn off? Yes but only because of my own issues with myself, small men make me feel like a hippo

I'm of average height.

For men, tall is a plus but short is not a deal breaker.
I'd choose a short man with 10 qualities I like over a tall man with 3 qualities I like.

Last time I checked, females don't have wives, they have husbands and these husbands also tend to be the father of their children. The post didn't make a lot of sense to me.

Um. She could be a lesbian or bisexual? If so, her kids are probably from a previous marriage she had with a man. It's the 21st century dude, traditional marriages don't mean jack anymore. :/

An interesting dynamic here -- tall women claiming they don't need a man to be tall, yet we know that tall women are limited in terms of whom they can date by height -- i.e., dating a man smaller than them is unlikely due to social reasons.

Meanwhile, shorter women do date taller. Really, logically, this would always be the case -- if height limits who one can date as a woman, shorter women have the advantage, as they literally have almost the whole spectrum of normal height men to pick from, while taller women have a smaller sub-set.

I'm 6'2", and all of the women I've dated have been 5'6" or under. My wife is 4'11". There may be a "protect me" rationale here, as someone else alluded to - It's very easy to say you can "learn to punch" at 5'9", but at 4'11", a whole 10 inches shorter than you, those women are at a significant reach disadvantage, no? Genes probably push us to mate in a way that smooths out outlier characteristics (like being too short, too tall, too masculine, too feminine, etc.)

1: Reasonably important.
2: I'm 5'8".
3 & 4: The number isn't really the important thing. I won't reject a guy because he's 1 inch shorter than I'd like.

I prefer men to be taller than me, but that's not a requirement by any means. When I date women, I prefer them to be shorter than me, but again, not a requirement. With guys it's actually difficult for me to find one taller than me.

1- his height is not very important, however I do prefer them just as taller or taller than myself.
2- I'm 161cm. :)
3- is a height less than 6 feet a turn off? No.
4- is a height less than 5.5 feet a turn off? No
