Has any of us veterans gotten a date since this lovely support forum?

I would love to know!

Haha , I am sure there are some who did and others who didn't.

But I think most of those "veterans" who got partners are not active in this section anymore. (once they get gf/bf = bye bye L&D forum)

I actually got pretty close with someone I met here. Was I guess a 'close' relationship but not boyfriend-girlfriend stuff. It didnt help though that I found out everything out of her mouth for a year and a half was a lie =/.

I've been here sense before summer started & I'm still alone but that's because women are simply NOT attracted to guys like me unless they are on coke or something

Considering going back to an ex.

Since I don't know if it's going to be a good decision in the long run, my relationship status is "it's complicated".

The man I was obsessed with for years might drop by this Christmas like he did last year. I know him from another town. I think

he was afraid I'd be mad for not staying in touch. Life is too short and the bear hug we gave each other was much nicer than a

snipe-fest. His sister lives here, maybe he'll drop by sooner than Christmas Eve so we can go get coffee or something.

I've met someone since I've joined. Also a few ups and downs in between (went through my old posts once and nearly laughed at some of the questions I've asked here; if I could go back and talk to my younger self, I could give exactly the same advice a lot of people gave me).

I have been here for a short period(even shorter taking into account I spent time trying to avoid dates until last month(had horrible luck at dating and decided to take a small break)) so I havent found a suitable partner yet.

Right now I have an idea of what Im loking for(didnt have a clue until not too long ago) and Im willing to show some commitment if theres need to which is something I usually tried to avoid.

Im also trying to focus on other aspects of life because no one wants to date a person thats desperate about getting a partner and focusing on other stuff makes me look less desperate.

LOL... an herb species Face of Boo.

Anyway I guess I've learned a few things about myself being here. I think if there's anything I learned it's not being emotionally available. I can' t seem to "connect" with people even though I feel there is a connection. On another note, I've found that men are just as picky as women about personality and yes we also have to be the social creatures too. I think my autism may be more severe than just aspergers thus making it more difficult to communicate through words directly. There's a large part of me that can relate to men who feel bitter toward women even though I don't subscribe or agree with them. My emotions and beliefs are what I think what keep me from having a so-called "normal" relationship to begin with. I don't talk about it much since I figure this more for males only.

I'm wondering, do you think there may be an inferiority complex going on within ourselves?

The issue is even deeper than inferiority complex, I knew a lot of girls who had inferiority complex yet they always got bfs , and I knew few guys with it yet always used to get gfs.

The thing that we have ...umm...is a true genuine inferiority , and not just a complex: An inferiority in social skills (which leads to less friends ---> less social lifestyle---> less potential relationships...) and this is a huge disadvantage.

Think of it, in the animals world , the individuals who are more inferior(less adaptive in the environment ) than others are less likely to reproduce.

Humans are social creatures, and 'social skills' is an important element for human adaptation/survival, so those who lack it are less likely to reproduce (unless if they have other great traits that compensate this , such as genius IQ).

I wish one of my rejectors would just tell me why. One did. He said my depression scared him. We are friendly facebook

friends today. He found the right woman for him and I'm happy that he has his own family now. He didn't care that I was

weird. He was pretty weird too, but in the best way.

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes I wonder it isn't why I get along so well with gypsies and eccentrics...because they're "wierd". Obviously my ability to have relationships sucks but I do wonder sometimes if some of us are placing to many expecations from what we see both in the media and our culture.
