If you were to chose your ideal romantic getaway, ranging anywhere from old/artistic cities, island paradise, national monuments, or geographical wonders, where would you chose go and why? Imagine that price isn't an obstacle and you've got about a week of free time.

however cheesy it is - i would stay at home with Stefan. With lots of food, wine, good movies and plenty of sexy time. :)

I agree, that's a terrible answer. You'd really tell the undisclosed travel agent to roll up two full package vacation itineraries to anywhere for a week and make them disappear?

Yup - I would tell the travel agent to trade in the tickets and hotel vouchers for unlimited take-out delivery, DVDs and a babysitter. Ah .... heaven :)

Somewhere in the mountains, preferably in winter with no one else around. The last part is mandatory - I can't stand hotels, resorts, beaches and the like.

TBH if we're talking about a full package vacation, the pre-organised one size fits all type I would also tell him to stuff it :P

Lake Tahoe in the wintertime, and somewhere TBA for the summertime. And of course a road bike and Mt. Diablo makes for some fun times...

However, I've always wanted to go diving off the Great Barrier Reef, Fiji, the Florida Keys, Catalina Island, and anywhere where there are wrecks or natural features underwwater that make me go, wow. But's it's difficult to talk with a scuba regulator in your mouth and the cardinal rule of scuba diving is never hold your breath.

i don't seem to have inherited much of a romantic gene. i like to do stuff together, and i like to go places, but when the two situations are smushed together it doesn't make me feel romantic.

my husband has given me gifts (and vice versa) that can be considered romantic, and one of them involved travelling. we flew in a small 4-seater airplane over a slightly northern area, close to the remote region where we lived.

the places i really want to travel to don't really involve other people too much. like, i want to go to the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas to look for diamonds. and i'd like to see yukimarimos in Antarctica. i guess husband would also like to go to Antarctica, so maybe that would be romantic.

Bradenton Motorsports Park. Reason? Cause it's fun, it's cheap oh and it's fun. Price being no object I'd just bring faster cars XD

I have a friend who keeps insisting I should go to some pleasant tourist town and I keep wondering what could possibly be interesting there. My idea of a good time is trying not to gag while strolling along the shore of the Salton Sea in August (Dead fish. Lot's of dead fish.)

The Arizona deserts especially along Interstate 8 are really beautiful. Antartica sounds like a nice place to visit. Iceland, too looks like it can be very beautiful. When I think of going some place for recreation, it's the remote and desolate places that appeal to me most.

A really luxurious Alaskan cruise. And throw in the best cruise weather while we're at it!
