I recieved an email today from OKCupid, normally I ignore this kind of thing as marketing but this has gotten me a little curious as if true might not be too good for me. Has anyone else received this:

OKCupid wrote:
We are very pleased to report that you are in the top half of OkCupid's most attractive users. The scales recently tipped in your favor, and we thought you'd like to know.
How can we say this with confidence? We've tracked click-thrus on your photo and analyzed other people's reactions to you in Quickmatch and Quiver.
. . .
Your new elite status comes with one important privilege:
You will now see more attractive people in your match results.
This new status won't affect your actual match percentages, which are still based purely on your answers and desired match's answers. But the people we recommend will be more attractive. Also! You'll be shown to more attractive people in their match results.
. . .
Suddenly, the world is your oyster. Login now and reap the rewards. And, no, we didn't just send this email to everyone on OkCupid. Go ask an ugly friend and see.

If it's true does it mean that 'uglier' people won't be able to see me? I can get more nervous the better looking someone is as they're likely to have much more experience than me and in reality be out of my league in that respect. Nobody seems to go on my profile either so I don't know how they can assume this anyway?

I had one of these a while back. Maybe they just send it out to everyone to make them feel nice.

They send that email as a result of statistical analysis of your profile. You can "see" anyone who's visible on the site to you.

It just means that you have a whole bunch of matches added that they didn't give you before. I got one of those as well and it seems like its standard procedure if a few people rate you attractive.

What I'm wondering, how is that done exactly? I might have an option to rate women's attractiveness somewhere on the form but I haven't noticed anything yet.

I don't understand...what mechanisms is OKC using to judge people's reactions to you on quiver or Quickmatch?
Hidden cameras?

No, they only sneak those in above patron's bathroom toilets. They get a good downward downward angle but can't see a face all that clearly.

I have only just joined the website, to do a personality test. It is kind of silly in many ways. It emailed me with 4 potential matches, and then when I looked at these people's profile, it said that to me they were "0% Friend, 60% Enemy", or "0% Friend, 70% Enemy." It sent me a whole lot of these Enemies, I dont know whether it thinks I would want to date someone I dont like? Weird.
