I am but I'm finding it harder to date women than I did men because of my AS.
They seem to be looking for more emotional expression and intuitiveness than guys do and I simply can't.
I guess it helps to tell them so they understand but so far it hasn't seemed to change the course of the relationships (i.e. crash & burn)
Oh well...keep trying...
I'm in Florida and in my 30s....we'll leave it at that

i am currently realizing how important and valuable and helpful friendships are. i do miss having a certain someone, but i am very hesitant in pursueing that. i don't trust easily. i only have a few friends, whom i trust. one friend i have spoke to about As and she is supportive, and honest.

I think it take a certain temperament of NT to work well with an Aspie. Someone who is very forthright and not shy but also patient.
It seems that this combo isn't so common...people who are bold usually aren't patient and patient people seem to be shy and won't tell you what they're thinking, they want you to be intuitive about how they feel.
I sometimes wonder if it's fair to "inflict" my impaired ability to relate upon the brave soul who would accept the challenge of being in a relationship with me. I think it would be rewarded but that's only my hope and desire for them that it would and I don't truly know if they would find fulfillment in our relationship. Obviously open, honest communication is key, where each party make their wants, needs and intentions quite clear.
I'm new to realizing I'm AS and I gather that Aspies tend to try to date other Aspies but I'm really uncertain if that goes well or not. Seems to me if both people are struggling with the same issues to relate with others that the communication difficulties would be X 2.
I believe my ex was also AS and basically we seemed to be alone together. Think I'd rather be alone than have unfulfilled expectations in my face everyday.
