Hope you won't become another of those wives.

Geez, in one way this post made me glad no one knew about AS when I was young...all that stuff about "taking advantage" and losing jobs...whoo.

Best of luck to you. As far as legal guardianship, if the person is of normal intelligence and has reasonable life skills, I can't imagine any court awarding guardianship. I'm a health care professional and I deal with this kind of thing. They'd basically have to prove he was incapable of managing his own affairs.

If he has employment it is unlikely he has a guardianship; because he is capable of taking care of his own affairs.

Is this some kind of joke? You're happy to lose your job because you have a crush on a client? Youve come online, shared confidential information a colleague had no right to pass on and think this is acceptable behaviour. Then worry he may be on the site, suggesting this info could make you both identifiable. Even discussing clients online could get you fired and the evil cow in me hopes you do get fired. It's a complete breach of trust.

If this guy is in a facility in adulthood it's either because his needs are greater than independence can provide or he wants the additional support, either way you are potentially abusing him if you start any kind of relationship with him because you are in a position of authority and he is potentially vulnerable. Like teacher and student, even if of age it's an offense.

You sound like a child with a childlike crush, nothing more. If you can see nothing potentially wrong with this situation, I suggest hitting your psych books and reading up on unwanted advances from people in positions of power and authority.

You haven't told us if you guys have an age gap (it sounds like there is, not being funny or anything).

If there is no age gap I can't see you taking advantage of him if he starts to like you too...

All I can say is don't risk your job for love. I know you may have fallen for him but don't take it too far as he may not be interested in you and if you sacrificed everything for it that is a dangerous move.

Wait, I just looked at the previous post more closely...

Oh....seems he maybe your client....well....it depends if you want to hang around with him as a friend rather then a client....seperate your job practise to socialising...but he may not pick up on that so it is a dangerous game...
