So my friend is about five years younger than me, and she's about the nicest person in the world. We get along great and I love her. But now that I've decided to finally start dating this summer (yay!) I've started feeling really inadequate around her. I think I'm cute in a geeky sort of way, but I'm what would be considered "thick" (5'7'', 165lbs.), and love to eat, while my friend is a perfect hipster-skinny (not to mention half Asian, which is what all the men seem to like these days). And, of course, she doesn't have Asperger's. I know it makes no sense to be so insecure. But what if I eventually meet someone wonderful, introduce him to one of my only friends, and he ends up falling for her? Is this just my imagination/low self-esteem going nuts?

Your friend would also have to fall for him, and they would have to be compatible on multiple levels. It could theoretically happen, but if it does, then he really wasn't the right guy for you, and she really wasn't your friend. You can't go through life letting fears like that hold you back though.

And there are a lot of guys out there who love to eat too.

Your title for this post was so compelling and funny, I just HAD to read it. If you're anything as compelling and funny as your title, you're probably pretty appealing -- I don't think I'd worry too much about your skinny, extroverted NT friend!! !
