The man I love recently proposed to me, and I said yes. I'm looking forward to getting married, but there is just one problem: the engagement ring kind of bothers me.
The ring is the correct size, but I find myself figeting with it, so I'm afraid that it may slip off and I'll loose it. (And the ring used to belong to his mother, so looseing it would be bad)
Also, since engagement rings have a raised stone, it becomes a little difficult to wear gloves.

Can anyone give me some advice?

aren't you too young to get married?

I don't have an answer, except that I eventually bent my engagement ring for similar reasons...it wasn't an expensive one...and I decided to put it away at home after we got married and I had the plain ring, which I love.

Can you put it on a chain around your neck? I'm sure a jewelry store could help you find a way to do that so it wouldn't scratch the ring itself. (I really hope that the man you love understands you have sensory issues.) As for gloves, I think most women just wear gloves that are too big.

Good luck with your future!

I have a solitaire engagement ring and wore it until I got married. After the wedding, I had my wedding band (which is a plain gold band) so I put the engagement ring into the safety deposit box. At first my husband was upset that I wasn't wearing that ring anymore but it was really cumbersome and impractical for me. I like petite jewelry and little of it.

Tee Hee! My parents also think that I am a bit young to get married, but they were in there teens like me when they were married, so they cant judge. Also my Fiance asked both of them for permission to marry me, and they both said yes. Thirdly, This will be a long engagement, may even last a few years.

And Ive tried the necklace thing, and that just bothers my skin (I dont like necklaces).

My Fiance and I have picked out a wedding ring, and it doesnt have a raised stone, so I'll just swich to it when the big day comes. (I spoke to my Fiance about this, and he knows about my Aspergers, so he doesnt mind)
