Have you ever done anything silly to get to see a crush of yours, to talk to them, to let them know you liked them, etc?

When I was fairly young, I liked this guy that was really into bike riding (he was much older than me). My dad organized a bike ride and the guy I liked was going on it so I signed up to do it. I ended up getting up at maybe 4am and riding 40 miles. The guy didn't do the whole ride or something so I saw him for like 5 seconds -_-

I bought two tickets to see Demetri Martin, and told her I had an extra one. She went we hung out, We went to eat afterwards. I was just about to ask her out and her secret boyfriend at the time showed up. Needless to say I was clueless of her messaging him and when he showed up he said he saw her car while he was driving his motorcycle. Needless to say that was the year I learned most chicks like @#$holes...

I pratically humiliated myself by flirting with this guy with one of my "friends" who knows I have AS. I ended up holding his hand and giving him one of my bracelets.

Ummm  I unnecessarily walked around buildings and was late for class so I could try to talk to someone who eventually became my boyfriend.
I also bought a pocketwatch for myself and went to a school-sanctioned social event (ew :eew: ) that I knew he was going to attend for extra credit and devised a master scheme to trade phone numbers that actually worked!

It's a bit complicated  I originally wanted to be friends, but I was too much of a weirdo to approach it normally.
He was a friend of a friend, so during the school event I asked my girl buddy if she could text him but she said her phone was dead.. so I asked her to tell him that she wanted to text him so I "let" her use my phone and then he had my number for later and he texted me  I kind of acted like an idiot and made it more difficult than necessary, but to be honest I couldn't say anything around him. Dead silent. Gah. :? It's better now though.

Was the guy really a jerk? What did he do when he showed up? Can you be sure he was really her boyfriend? It's possible that their arrangement was a fake, to be used when she wants an escape from what she thinks is a bad date. The story of the car and the motorcycle is just something he said to make you believe he didn't show up just because she was texting him.

Texting or contacting other people is just a really flaky thing to do on a date. In this case it comes off appearing as though she was setting you up to humiliate you all along. What you saw was not an example of "chicks liking @#$holes", but rather, the chick was the @#$hole.

I personally made connections to every waitress and waiter i knew at a restraunt we both liked, and arranged a skit, where letters and flowers were brought to her, and a man gave me a sign that said beautiful things about her.

she also got free food.

ended up getting rejected because apparently im not that important to her, and only just a friend.

wasted hundreds of dollars in tips over the course of a year. but hey, at least i get free beer now

I bought flowers for this crush I had my senior year of high school. My plan was simple, give her the flowers, tell her that I wanted to ask for her number, but I brought the flowers so I wasn't empty handed (basically trade flowers for number) lol

I did get her number, and we hung out a few times. Then I bought her flowers as a way of asking her to my senior prom. She said no, and said that it would probably be awkward as we didn't have a lot in common. :

In 6th grade I bought this chocolate laptop for valentine's day for my crush. Needless to say, she didn't think it was as cool as I did.

i got some fortune cookies and sliced open the plastic sleeves really carefully at one end. i took out the fortunes with tweezers.

i made 3 replacement fortunes that looked authentic, with messages like, 'you will start to find [a girl who looks like hyperlexian] really attractive'. one the back, i put the digits of my phone number instead of lottery numbers (broken into 3 logical groupings, i.e. 555, then 123, then 4567).

i carefully inserted the fortunes back into the cookies (harder than it sounds) and resealed the plastic packages with invisible tape.

i left one for him each day, and after the second one he told me he had a girlfriend. was slightly awkward after that as i had misunderstood his flirtation. wasn't really his fault though cuz i saw what i wanted to see.

I drove through a really bad snow/ice storm to pick him up from work because his car had a flat. We hung out for a while that afternoon, but nothing ever came of that. (Was 10+ years ago, and doubt he ever knew that I had ulterior motives)

Yesterday (new crush) I bought concert tickets for me and my friend. Partly as a way to thank him because he's been really understanding about the Aspie stuff but mostly as a way to spend time with him alone. I know, alone at a concert with thousands of other people, sounds strange. But we won't know anyone else there, probably, so we'll be sort of alone. Not sure if anything will come of this one, either, but I'm cautiously hopeful. The thing is, he said something strange on the phone that makes me think I've got a shot, but then, I might be seeing what I want to see. Oh well--we'll see next Friday, won't we? Wish me luck!

Writing poetry for girls that I liked - basically every time I've tried this to impress a girl, the girl just always shoots me down. :(
