Because of AS I can literally not tell when someone is interested, I always pass it off as pity. Its only a while later, when its far too late I realise what they really meant. Also, I have no idea how to so much as hint to someone that i like them, without coming off as some kind of weirdo. You have no idea (Well, some probably do...) what its like to have to live through this day in day out.

And to cap it all off, I can't even get a hug in my dreams. Literally, as soon as im close to anything that can be considered affectionatet, I get woken up.

Well, I just needed to get that out.

I know what you mean. I'm sure you're not alone about this. It is very frustrating.
Even when I meet someone and starts a friendship or relationship I just keep waiting for them to get tired of me. And sooner or later they do. What causes this? I don't know, it's just me. Or aspergers.

Love the avatar! Your own cat?

A few NTs are very "right on", almost like an AS. They will openly show interest in you almost instantly. However, don't count with anything else than sex and often just for a single time and no more.

So there are others that have lost all ability to be happy in dreams or fantasies. Wondered if I was the only one. As for the whole interest issue, maybe you ought to wait for someone more consistant rather than someone who just attempts something once or twice. Those types are impatient and fairly easy anyway; not much for good relationships.

I know

It's a social issue.

I'm a very affectionate person, so when I offer a hug and someone refuses it, that doesn't make me very happy.

It happened to me with someone you've all heard about in this forum. I begin to wonder to this day why she didn't accept a hug, but that's just her.

Eye contact is a major way of showing someone you are interested and vice versa. Make eye contact, then smile. But there is the problem of course, because eye-contact is such an issue for many of us. Showing interest in a person and making conversation is another way to give them a hint that you like them. But again, if you are like me, you will always be trying to think of the right thing to say and end up saying nothing!
Its a tough one.
